What a great start to a new series. I loved the characters and there was just enough of everything to keep me gripped and begging for more.
Lily Salmon has lost both her parents and her ex-fiancé all in a short time; some would say this wasn’t such a bad thing. After suffering abuse at the hands of her ex-fiancé she now has severe body issues and is pretty withdrawn, so when her friend/boss gives her a special assignment she is more than happy to oblige.
All she has to do is meet and befriend Jonas Crane so he will eventually sign with their publishing house, this should be an easy task, but its is anything but…..Jonas is a self-assured man who knows what he wants and usually always succeed in getting it. He has an ex-wife who he remains friends with and a teenage son.
There is an instant attraction between them both and the chemistry is there too but Jonas wants it all on his terms and he sets the rules for their relationship.
Will their pasts forever haunt them and ruin whatever this is between them or will they fight for all that they feel?
This book does end on a cliffhanger, but that was the only thing wee were ever sure of going into this book since it clearly stated Part 1!!!

Wow! what a fantastic follow-up, this was a very emotional read we are giving more of an insight into Lily’s past and how this affects her relationships with all concerned. There were so many twists that it kept me guessing and trying to turn pages quicker than I could read them just to find out what was going to happen.
So we jump right in where part 1 finished.
Lily has fallen hard for Jonas but with the reappearance of her ex-fiancé her insecurities become more intense and she is slowly losing everything she has worked hard for.
As much as she wants Jonas he is still guarded and doesn’t want to hand another his heart to have it broken again.
After the attack she finds herself being picked up by Jonas ex-wife Dani and friend Ian, they want to help her but she needs to help herself too. She also wants to keep this all hidden from Jonas.
Jonas doesn’t want her but he also doesn’t want anyone else to have her either so with recent events can they work out an arrangement that works for them both, will they give into temptation or will others keep them apart.
This story is one that just keeps giving and giving and I couldn’t wait to dive into part 3!!!

This was a fantastic ending to a wonderful series. This was an emotional read and one that will stay with me for some time. I love how the characters have evolved so much within the 3 books and I have never tired of them once.
With everything that Lily has gone through she has given all control over to Jonas so she can concentrate on getting better.
Jonas is 100% all in when it comes to giving Lily everything she needs physically but he struggles when it comes to words and this is what Lily needs to hear the most.
Their relationship has never been easy but it has always been passionate and
Surely they can build on this.
Throughout this series, we have been shown love, hate, desire, lust, and hope. This was a hard subject to write about, but Amelie has done an amazing job. I felt everything the characters felt overall would give the series 5 massive stars.
