To the outside world, Jordan Burke appears to have the perfect life. A fulfilling career, family and great friends, but looks can be deceiving. Alex Garza has lived in the shadow of his brother’s fame for most of his life. He's an outcast in his own family and never able to put his own needs first. When his brother gives up his career to settle down, Alex is forced to reevaluate his life plans too. Over the past year, his friendship with Jordan has developed into a source of comfort. Now that he has the time to devote to a relationship, can he convince her to take a chance on love or will their painful pasts and a tragic event destroy their future?

EXCERPT
Alex begins playing with my hair and I realize this feels nice, right even. He’s engrossed by the movie playing out in front of us and all I can focus on are his hands touching me. His simple caress makes me want more and I wonder how it would feel to have him explore my body. Before I can stop myself, I slide my hand down and under his shirt so that I can get a better feel of the plains of his abs. I’ve never seen him naked, at least not that I can remember, and from what I can feel, his body won’t disappoint. I can sense his gaze drop down just as I tilt my head up and look at him. The look in his eyes mirrors my own. It’s desire and it’s something that has never been lacking between us. I lift myself up until our lips are practically touching. That’s all the direction he needs to take control. His lips are on mine and, once again, I’m lost in him. He pushes me down slowly onto my back until he’s hovering over me. He begins to place kisses on my nose, cheeks, the corners of my mouth and, finally, my neck.

A moan escapes from my mouth as he slips a hand under my shirt. The warmth from his touch spreads through me like a wildfire. I grab onto the hem of his shirt.

“Take it off.” I pant, tugging at his shirt again. He lifts his torso and I help remove it, tossing it on the floor beside us. Just as quickly, his lips are on mine again. I run my hands through his hair and spread my legs so that he can position himself in between them. His hand slips under my shirt and begins to travel up until it rests on my still covered breast. The feel of his hand drives me wild. I break the connection and bring my shirt up and over my head, throwing it down next to his. Cupping the sides of his face, I guide him back down to me so we can resume kissing. Why did I try to deny this magnetic pull between us? How did I allow myself to walk out on him when I had him in my bed? I release his face and reach down until I have hold of his jeans and I undo the button. He stops kissing me and looks at me with those amazing honey brown eyes.

“Are you sure?” he asks.

“I’m sure,” I whisper.

REVIEW

This is the second book in the 'Of Love Series' although it can be read as a stand alone book.
I have not read the first book however it is now on my TBR list.
This is the story of Jordan and Alex, both have secrets, both have issues which threaten to break them.
ALEX

Alex is a very caring , patient, determined man.

Jordan has had a tough past dealing with her parents messy divorce and she is afraid of commitment.
They decide to begin a relationship but keep it secret from family and friends as Jordan needs to see where it goes.
JORDAN

This book is from Jordan's and Alex's point of view and I think this really helps you connect with the characters.
Alice does a very good job developing the characters and I truly fell in love with them.
There are twists and turns in the book that I never saw coming, the epilogue was from Alex's point of view and finishes the story off nicely.
This was a truly great book, great characters , great sex scenes, great twists
I hope Alice continues with this series as I for one will be reading them.
5 Stars from Sarah Yearly

ALTERNATIVE POV
ALEX
As much as I want to marry Jordan, the idea of being pronounced husband and wife by some overweight Elvis impersonator is not the way I wanted to remember my wedding. Jordan and my journey has not been easy, we took the road less traveled to find our way to each other so I want to make sure that when we say I do, it’s perfect. That doesn’t mean that we need to have a big affair, or even a small intimate wedding like Victor and Ellie had. That kind of thing wouldn’t suit us but I was determined nonetheless to make it special.

We got to Vegas and took care of getting our marriage license immediately. I scoured this city high and low to find a chapel that didn’t look like it came out of a bad 80’s movie until finally I found the one. Alright if I’m being totally honest Ellie found it but it’s a simple but pretty little place off the strip, with a real minister. The girls went shopping for dresses this morning and while they were gone, I rented out the honeymoon sweet and had it set up with rose petals, candles and champagne, I want to surprise Jordan tonight after the ceremony.

I stand at the front of the chapel and my mind is racing a mile a minute. As Ellie walks down the aisle, I’m going over every single part of mine and Jordan’s relationship, every last detail that has led us here today and as a man you have to know that this is hard to admit but my heart is full of nothing but love for this girl. The girl that drove me nuts with her indecision, the girl that fought for me when she thought I was being harmed and used, the girl that showed me her vulnerability with every kiss, the girl who stood by me through the hardest times of my life, and when the music starts to play and she appears at the end of the aisle, she is the girl that I want so desperately to be my wife.

Her white dress is simple, there are no beads or jewels on it, no bells or whistles it’s just long and flowy, with a neckline that shows a hint of cleavage but not much. Her hair is pinned up in a low bun with a few strands left out to frame her delicate features. One look at her and my heart starts to race. She’s by far the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen and in this moment I’ve never been prouder to call her mine.

I can’t wait for her to get to me, literally I can’t wait to take her hand, so I do what feels right and I walk up the aisle and meet her half way. She beams and giggles at me when I get to her. “This is supposed to be a solo walk you know?” she teases.

I stare at her for a moment, taking in everything that she is. “Not for you, never again. From now on we walk together.”

“Just you and me?”

“Just like I always promised.” I reply. Her eyes well up with tears as I take her hand in mine. “I love you princess.”

“I love you too.” She replies and in that moment I’m complete, nothing else really matters, not the license or the rings, the flowers or the wedding vows. Those things are just bonuses to add onto an already perfect union.
