Long- Gracie has just finished her freshman year of college in Memphis when she takes a job at a local pizza joint in her home town of McKenzie, Tennessee. She is the epitome of innocence when she meets Noah. Noah is unabashedly handsome, intriguingly reckless and just cocky enough to be sexy. Gracie’s instincts tell her to stay far away from him and based on the stories she hears from her co-workers he leaves broken hearts in his wake. But still, she can’t explain her fascination with him.
Noah puts aside his bad boy ways when what he thought was a summer crush has him unexpectedly falling in love. But soon after Gracie transfers to UT Knoxville to be with Noah, their unexpected love becomes riddled with anger, deceit and humiliation.
Jake, Noah’s former roommate and Gracie’s best friend, can no longer be a bystander. Gracie’s world falls out from beneath her and when she breaks she turns to Jake for strength. As Jake talks her through a decision she’s not yet strong enough to make, together they uncover a truth so ugly neither of them is prepared for its fallout. Will Jake pull her to the surface or is Gracie Jordan finally In Too Deep?
REVIEW
Oh my good lord. This book is certainly a emotional roller coaster that will leave your heart hurting. Gracie, before I go any further I must say I normally don't like characters like hers (too much crying) much but there is just something about the way Gracie was written that called to me and bound me to her like no other character. She is REAL (she could be me, you, a friend or sister, the girl next door a work associate, the girl sitting next to you on the bus anyone.....) Sweet innocent Garcie has a job and a boyfriend she was comfortable with, until she met Noah at the pizzeria where she worked. She was warned by all that he was dangerous and not the type of guy a girl like her gets involved with. But we all know how that story goes bad boy good girl....there connection and his appeal makes her life and current boyfriend seems boring plus the relationship developing between the two is undeniable so she does the right thing in breaking up with her boyfriend in-order to explore the overwhelming feelings she has for Noah. So do they live happily ever after right..........
Unfortunately not in this case....this is so difficult to write about because it completely breaks my heart. Two years later bubbly, fun, happy, cheerful Gracie no longer exist, instead she is husk of a person broken, dishearten riddled with anxiety and insecurities.
"I hated disappointing people. I just wanted people to be happy with me.
Noah was right, I felt It was something I missing something that made him stray. "~Gracie
Noah promised to love her but he emotionally killed her spirit and broke her joy. He had her under his thumb and brainwashed to the point where she just kept on going back for more. the emotional and physiological abuse he subjected her to is sadistic and cruel. All abuse not matter if its physical, sexual, emotional or physiological they all leave the same lasting effect.
"He proved once again that he no longer remembered how to make love, he only knew how to fuck."~Gracie
Luckily for her she has an amazing group of friends and an incredible best friend Jake who helped her realize just how grave her situation really is but Noah's hold over he is a very strong one so we watch her struggle through her emotions and fear of breaking things off with Noah permanently.
"The night we made love for the first time, my soul married his. How do you undo that simply without pain?~Gracie
She was so worried about the break-up being bad but she failed to realize that living her day to day on eggshells and a complete emotional wreak was much worse than breaking free.

I taught there was no way Michelle could improve on book on but boy was I wrong because she out did herself. On solid ground is perfectly paced with a lot of insight and depth. Yes the book is long not one single word was unnecessary every beautiful pain staking work had purpose and intent.
