REVIEW BLOG TOUR~~BROKEN PROMISES By Kelly Elliott

Pain.
Hurt.
Regret.

All of these are a result from broken promises.

Love.
Joy.
Happiness.

All of these are a result from finding someone’s way.

Love has two paths, happiness, and heartbreak. Sometimes those paths intertwine. Sometimes we choose the wrong path. And sometimes we’re given the second chance to pick the right path.

Which path will Walker and Taylor go down? Only time will tell…

** Can be read as a standalone**

This review is a little bitter sweet for me because this series started my obsession with Kelly Elliott.
I have been on pins and needles ever since I read the end the end of Broken Dreams waiting for Broken promises. Before I get into the thick of things I need to say that I DO LIKE the book, however I had a few issues.
Broken Promise is the story of Walker (Son of Reed and Courtney) and Liza (Daughter of Whitley And Layton) the couples from the previous two books. I absolutely adored the two first book, so you can imagine my excitement for a book about their kids.
The story started out strong, we get a little background on all four kids and where they are now. Then we are taken back a few years before Walker & Liza left home to attend college, they made a promise  to wait for each other. That promise was broken physically but never in their hearts, the feelings they have for each other never went away.
Everyone around them can see it except the both of them. Which makes for an interesting read.

Awwww Liza and Walker....love them so childish and funny as hell...their arguing and bitchiness towards each other will crack you up. The things these two will say when they are running from their feelings are feeling guilty.

The characters are undeniably lovable and charming, Walker is 100% Reed Moore's son, you will love him. Liza is a sweet, caring young women just a little confuse about what she wants. The only thing that annoyed me about her was they crying..it never bloody stopped. Grrrr!

Kelly sure knows how to write a cowboy and the perfect cowboy loving female. As usual there was plenty of heat and LOL moments.
"Walker plus cowboy hat equals Liza wet between the legs"~Liza

Despite my love for these characters, I just could not overlook the (I feel so bad for saying this) extremely weak and predictable plot, the plot was pretty much non-existent and its a real shame because the characters are great and she has wonderful character development. They started out immature and afraid to follow their hearts however by the end the changes and development were evident and I loved that. But Damn the plot needed a ton of work.

Overall, I loved seeing the older couples and getting to know their kids. Broken Promises is written in duel POV with some flashbacks. Kelly Elliott is without a doubt the queen of cowboy country, unfortunately, this time she missed the mark with the plot but she delivered great characters with sizzling chemistry and a genuine kind of love.
Will I Read The Next Book?.......Hell Yess
Do I Recommend You Read Broken Promise?......Absolutely

Kelly Elliott is married to a wonderful Texas cowboy who has a knack for making her laugh almost daily and supports her crazy ideas and dreams for some unknown reason...he claims it's because he loves her!
She’s also a mom to an amazing daughter who is constantly asking for something to eat while her fingers move like mad on her cell phone sending out what is sure to be another very important text message.
In her spare time she loves to sit in her small corner overlooking the Texas hill country and write.

One of her favorite things to do is go for hikes around her property with Gus....her chocolate lab and the other man in her life, and Rose, her golden retriever. When Kelly is not outside helping the hubby haul brush, move rocks or whatever fun chore he has in store for her that day, you’ll find her inside reading, writing or watching HGTV.
