REVIEW & NEW RELEASE~~~THE JOURNEY HOME By Kelly Elliott
Maddison
Powers has been regretting the biggest mistake of her life when she walked away
from the only man who has ever sparked something deep inside her. After
comparing every guy she dates to Cale Blackwood, she finally gives up all hope
of ever finding him.
One
dare by Maddison throws Cale back into her life...and into the arms of her best
friend.
Cale
Blackwood thought he had found the woman of his dreams, until she walked away
from him one night and didn't look back. Attempting to find love again, Cale
finds himself in a relationship built on one lie after another. Forced to take
on the biggest challenge of his life, Cale must seek help from the woman who
walked away from him and broke his heart.
Sometimes
it takes more than one journey in life to truly be home.
"The moment we looked into each other's eyes, we found destiny"
Cale and Maddie shared one magical night together, the feelings that came forth was of epic proportions. Love at first sight.
Maddie however freaked by her feelings and ran after their one night together.
Two years later, neither one of them is happy living in the hope of finding each other again. No one compares in their eye, so their existence is pretty miserable especially in the romance department.
"Two years ago, I walked away from him, and now I had to live with that regret for the rest of my life."
From the get go this book took off like a race horse, about 25% in I felt like I had read a complete book. So bloody intense, every page was like the gift that kept giving.
The heartbreak in this book, completely did me in. My poor heart twisted with despair, confusion, hurt and pain just like Cale and Maddie's did. Kelly did a wonderful job giving life to the written words, She transported my mind and warped it completely with nothing but Cale, Maddie, Jack, and Monica and how could I ever forget....Zoey. I will say absolutely nothing about that cra-cra women. Be warned approach with extreme caution.
I normally accociate Kelly Elliott with swoon worthy sweet romance with strong family values but The Journey home showed just how versatile she really is. The first half was jam packed with maddening heartbreak, angst, and suspense. Whiles the second half was what I call signature Kelly Elliott; she brought us make you weep swoon worthy romance, and heartwarming family value.
Families comes in all shapes and sizes, and its not always blood that determines your family but the heart and destiny which also plays a massive role.
"You can't push love away forever, fate has a way of stepping in one way or another"
The journey to love and that elusive HEA is far from smooth sailing for Cale and Maddie. They both had to grow as individuals and face the consequences of each choice and action.
They had more than a few skyscraper size obstacles to over come. Their struggles were inspiring and truly touching as the pair fight for that epic love and a happily ever after.
"Love is a journey, Cale sometimes we get lost along the way, but love always brings us home."
Overall The Journey home is a moving, hot as hell, romance about true love navigating the rocky, stormy, deadly roads on the journey to discover that special connection like no other and maintaining that once in a lifetime kind of love.
The story is multi layered and told in duel POV. I absolutely love the secondary characters, Monica cracks me up. Their stories are also relatable and their love is not without its challenges. The support and bond between the friends is something to be admired.
The friendship element was just wonderful, it was everything I expected from Ms Elliott and more.
I will say this again with each book I can't help but fall more and more in love with Kelly Elliott and her creations.
If you are looking for a book with grounded down to earth values, Epic love that conquers all, amazing friendship bonds, Hotter than hell scenes between the sheets or against the wall, all beautifully tied together with flawless writing then you could NEVER go wrong with Novel by Kelly Elliott.
I really enjoyed the Journey Home and I believe you will also, how could you possible not....it ticks all the boxes

Maddie's POV
“Cale, you need to go home.”
He closed his eyes and shook his head. “You’re doing it again. You’re pushing me away. I’m tired of it, Maddie. I’m so tired of it.”
I swallowed hard and turned to find my phone. I needed Jack to come pick up Cale.
I was about to dial my phone when Cale grabbed me. He turned me around and backed me up until I hit the living room wall.
His eyes were filled with lust. That look had my panties soaked in seconds.
He lifted up my dress and, in one quick movement, he ripped my panties from my body. I wanted to cry out yes. I wanted to let him take me, but I couldn’t.
“Cale,” I said. “Don’t do this.”
He kissed my neck and I started to give in. When his hand touched my inner thigh, I startled. His lips moved to mine and I moaned, desperately, into his mouth as he lifted my leg.
“Oh God,” I whispered. I tried to come to my senses. “Cale, please don’t do this. We can’t do this.”
He moved his lips to my jaw line as he kissed around to my ear. “Are you turned on by me? Or by him?”
The moment he asked, I felt like a whore. I dropped my leg and pushed him back.
I wiped the tears from my eyes.
“Jesus. I didn’t mean that Maddie. I just—”
“Get out,” I said. “Get out of my house and don’t you dare set foot near me again. I hate you, Cale.”
