Urban Love Prophecy Front Cover
Title: Urban Love Prophecy
Author: Jessica Ingro
Release Date: June 13, 2014

This isn’t a story about a bad boy and a girl from the right side of the tracks. This is the story of a man and a woman discovering love is blind to how you grew up, who your friends are, and where you live. Love sees only the heart and soul of whom it belongs to. Someone once said that the best way to predict the future is to invent it. As a boy, Jayson Santiago made a vow to leave behind the projects where he grew up. He planned to conquer the world and find a woman who could not only hold it down, but also hold him up. Now he’s the reigning king of hip-hop, and while he has the professional success he always wanted, he’s missing the personal success he craves. Victoria Watson is the daughter of an oil tycoon who never wanted for anything. Circumstances have forced her out of her protective bubble and into the real world, where she struggles to make ends meet while finding a way to get back the only important thing in her life. Will they be able to make Jayson’s prophecy come true? Or will they be pushed past their breaking point? It isn’t easy to keep focused on the heart and soul of the one you love when you’re always being tested. Then again, the best things in life are always worth fighting for...
ULP Teaser #10

Jayson grew up in the projects and vowed to make an escape and make something of himself, find the perfect women for him and treat her like a Queen and she would treat him like her king...Sounds sweet right?
At 37 Jayson has accomplished most of  his childhood dreams and what he set out to do when he was just a young boy but one mayor part is missing; his queen.
After a number of failed relationships and gold diggers Jayson is left jaded and protective of his heart and to be honest who can blame him... He has being used and betrayed in the worse ways by women he gave his love and trust to.
Now he is just your typical player, who refuses to commit to another women.

Victoria (Tori) could not be more opposite to Jayson. She is the privileged girl that grew up in a mansion enjoying all the best of what life has to offer.
Now Tori's fortunes has drastically changed after her father becomes gravely ill  and her evil step mother who is just a year older than her is keeping her inheritance away from her as well as her dying frail father. She has to find a way to support herself and be independent, she ends up finding a job as a waitress at a strip club, a new run down apartment with a great neighbour Kim who has become a really good friend and a shoulder for her to cry one.

"Not  long ago I had people waiting on me."~Tori

She meets Jay at the strip club when she waited on a table with his crew, where a few of then were giving her a hard time and he stepped in. She is immediately attractive to the Tall, Dark, and handsome Jayson as he is to her, there is just something about her that he has to get to know.
Tori has attitude, sass and presence she is a little spitfire and I love the way she stands up for herself, she fights for what she believes in.
Once jayson realises she has no clue who he is, he is even more intrigued by her. He had become so used to people using him and always wanting something from him because of who he is. Tori's genuine interest in him is refreshing but he was still not prepared to commit after they got to know each other and spend plenty of time between the sheets .....you know the saying once bitten twice shy.
Tori on the other hand knows exactly what she wants and she fights like hell to prove herself and forge a path behind Jays walls.

"I was really hoping to find someone for companionship. I wanted someone to talk to at the end of the day, to make love to at  night and to laugh with." -Tori

There relationship is not without its challenges; Tori is dealing with a crazy step mum who has stopped her from seeing her dying father. Jay has plenty of problems with his ex-wife, women hanging off him. Every one wanting something from his all the falseness leaves his uncertain and guarded with major issues. His background and the things he did before he turned his life around, fills him with doubt about his suitability for the prim Tori who lived a pretty much perfect life.
Tori had a lot to prove and a mountain to climb before she got anywhere with Jay despite their physical attraction.
"I wouldn't be surprise if she started acting fake like all the other bitches eventually did---playing games and testing my limits. For that reason alone I couldn't give her my heart."~Jay

Lord have mercy this book is HOT some of the love scenes has my eyes bulging in delight.  Tori and Jay defiantly had that extra special fire. I love that sex was not perfect sometimes it can get messy and Jessica was not afraid to include that, that allowed me to relate more. The book had a real grittiness to it, some of the situations are very true to real life.
"As soon as my lips met his, he took over. His kiss was hard, wet and left me breathless."~Tori

Jay has may issues to overcome, he makes a few mistakes along the way.
Will he ever be able to work through his issues and doubts in order to give his relationship with Tori a real chance?
How many mistakes is Tori willing to forgive?
"I was going to dedicate my life to him to matter what life threw our way."~Tori

I'm not going to lie I did find a few parts to be cringe worthy due to the stereo-typical nature of the dialogue between Tori and Jay. I also spotted a few errors with the way a few sentences are written, however that did not take away from my overall enjoyment.
This book does have infidelity and normally I hate books with cheating, but the incident in this book was done very well and reflected a true to life situations. Sometimes people make mistakes and the road to redemption and forgiveness is not always an easy one. For Jay he has to so some soul searching and fight the good fight to get the love of his life back he had finally found his queen but blinded by stubbornness and past hurt to realize before he acted like a complete fool.

"I have never truly known sex as being anything other than the physical act. Now I felt the spiritual connection beyond what mu body was feeling. It was like a tether that bound us together."~Tori
Overall a great story with heart, soul and substance that flowed well and represent something so much more.
Urban Love Prophecy is written from both Tori and Jay's POV and marks a wonderful step into a market that I truly believe needs more authors like Jessica Ingro to be ambassadors.  I have to salute her for writing such a book, we live in such a diverse world and its great to see that reflected in the written world.
I loved the end of the book it almost brought me to tears of joy, it was beautiful and touching. It ended like a truly great Romance Novel.
Their love was perfectly imperfect and I loved every second.
"God, I loved this women. My prophecy come to life. My world. My soul mate. My equal."~Jay

“You do know you’re beautiful, right? And your mom would be proud to see what a special woman you’ve become,” he whispered in my ear. When he was done speaking, he pulled back fractionally and stared into my eyes. Blue meeting green in an effort to communicate how genuine that statement was for him.
My breath hitched, and I fought hard to swallow past the lump that was building in my throat. He said the most perfect things at just the right time. In that moment, I really wanted this man beyond just in my bedroom. I wanted him in my life.
He leaned away and settled on my side of the booth, propping his foot up on the opposite side and stretching his arm along the back of the seat.
“What other songs did you like? Or is it presumptuous of me to assume you liked more than one song on that CD?”
I was grateful for the lighter topic, since the chemistry between us was starting to feel a bit combustible.
“Not at all. I liked most of them, but ‘The Struggle’ spoke to me. I felt like you gave me a glimpse inside you. It was humbling to be given that opportunity. To hear how you struggled to be the son your mother would be proud of and the man that a woman would want to spend her life with. The man a daughter would want to call father. It was really very beautiful.”
I watched as something passed over his face that was both breathtaking and raw. Before I had a chance to put my finger on what it was, it was gone. Replaced with a serious look that made me cringe a little. I wanted the playful Jay back. Not the one that appeared to be lost in thoughts, and not all of them good.
“Although I have to say the song about fucking your best friend’s girl one night and then hitting an entire sorority the next was just as inspirational,” I deadpanned.
“How did you possibly fit them in all in one night? Inquiring minds want to know.” I winked and hoped that would break the mood. It worked when he threw a fry from my plate at me.
“Brat.” He laughed with a half grin on his face.
“Really, though, is that true? Did you really have sex with that many women in the span of one night?” He looked uncomfortable for a split second before answering.
“Maybe not all of them, but there were quite a few.”
“Huh. So you’re a stallion then?” Growing up with horses I knew that stallions were often bred more than once in a day. If this story was true, I could imagine him going all night like a real thoroughbred. That thought was a little too much for my brain to comprehend.
“I haven’t had any complaints. And I’m certainly hung like one.”
“You know, they say the men who brag the most are the ones that shouldn’t be bragging.”
“Oh, Tori. Now you’re testing me. If you want me to show you, baby, it can be arranged.”
