OMG Great start to a new series. I loved that it was dual POV, it just added to the depth of the story. This story had it all love, heartbreak, friendship and understanding. It was refreshing to read a about a couple who were more interested in how they would make their future work than dwelling on the past and hurting one another.
Kyle and Amber love one another fiercely and have plans for their future...That was until Amber sees something that devastates her. She fled without a word and Kyle was left alone and wondering why.
Kyle followed the path he had planned, he went to L.A and pursued his dream of becoming a rockstar. The rockstar life was not all that great, finding himself on a downwards spiral of women, drugs and alcohol he realises that this life isn't for him. He just wants a simple life so returns to his roots. Going home wasn't easy but with the rest of his band mates following him they helped him through the rough times.
Amber has made a new life for herself, she is engaged and happy. Then she finds her fiance in the throws of passion with another woman and she knows her only option is to return home. Back in the place that holds so many good and bad memories Amber starts looking for a job and when she ends up in KC's Bar and Grille she is happy to find they are looking for a waitress. Hired by the woman behind the bar she is yet to meet her new boss
Amber's boss is back in town and she is gobsmacked to find out who he is, her past and present collide when she comes face to face with Kyle the only man who has ever really had her heart.
Kyle is even more shocked to see her, she left him years ago taking his heart with him but why is she back now. Kyle feels so much anger towards her but he still cant fight the attraction. He has always love her, she will always be his princess but does he love her enough to forgive her?
With so much hurt between them they are in for a rough ride. They are both grown up and they talk through everything that happened. There is alot to deal with but this couple are strong. Just when they look like they are on the road to becoming each others forever tragedy strikes and everything is up in the air.
There is a massive cliffhanger...but don't worry as book 2 is available to jump wight into!!!

I couldn't wait to read this book, after the cliff hanger from book 1, I just needed to know what came next. I was not disappointed with the way this story went.
My emotions were pulled through the ringer throughout this book. Something about this couple captured my heart, they were real and the way they dealt with everything thrown at them was realistic. Their love has no bounds and I fell in love with them too.
Picking up where book 1 finished this couple are trying to deal with yet another tragedy, just when things were looking up for this couple they hit another bump. Now they have one of the hardest fights of their life. Will anything ever be the same for this couple again?
Waking up at the hospital Amber doesn't know how she got there and who are these strangers around her bed. She feels safe with them and there is something about the man named Kyle that attracts her like a magnet. All she can hope for is that her memory starts to come back.
Kyle is distraught, just when he had the woman of his dreams back in his life everything shatters around him once again. Amber is still there in body but she doesnt remember him and everything that they have been through threw the years.
Together they fight for what they want and what feels right but love never comes easy and fate is a bitch...Once again this couple have one of the most heartbreaking twists to overcome but this time may be the last straw!!!

So this is the third book of the Oakville Series and it can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading the series in order.
Once again Kathy-Jo has delivered a kickass book that will leave you begging for more. This book had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. Holly and Paul were very real characters and it was easy to relate to them.
Holly married Ray at a young age. After being passed around multiple foster homes when someone showed her love and affection she grabbed it with both hands and held on tight. What started off as a good relationship soon turned bad very quickly. Not only was she physically abused she was practically a prisoner in her own house. When Holly receives news that she thinks will change her relationship for the better she is soon bought back to reality with a bang. With nothing left to loose and the help of a good friend Holly sets herself free and this is how she ends up in the small town of Oakville.
Paul watched his mother suffer at the hands of his father. When things got to much Paul did what his mother asked and ran. Ending up in L.A he soon met Kyle and they became good friends. When Kyle moved back to Oakville Paul followed and he couldn't be happier. He is a bit of a player but relationships aint for him he has seen what happened to his family and he doesn't want that for himself.
This pair literally crash into one another. There is an attraction from the very beginning. Both of them have major issues but when they come together they seem to fade into the back ground. Knowing that what they have is special they both take a leap of faith.
Then the past comes knocking and everything they have is jeopardised.
Who comes back to haunt them?
What does the future hold?

This series just keeps getting better. This book tells the tale of Angel and man I couldnt wait to get inside his head. Hearing about him in the first 3 book this man was a contradiction to himself, I couldn't work him out! Now I get him and I love him. I dont want to spoil this story as no one can tell it better than the man himself. Chelsie was strong but very nieve and you couldn't help feel for her. I was hooked from beginning to end!
Angel Has live with guilt and regret all his life. With a shattered heart he knows he has very little to offer anyone but there is something about Chelsie that he is drawn to. She is different from the other girls and she makes him want and feel thing he never thought possible.
Chelsie is a simple girl who knows what she wants and she wants Angel. However she cant work him out, he blows hot and cold and leaves her head spinning. Chelsie is very understanding when it comes to Angel but she is also very insecure. She knows she isnt his normal type but she just wants a chance.
This couple are polar opposites of each other but when the come together its electrifying. They are sweet and passionate and so right for one another but their road to happiness is definitely a bumpy one. With a past that haunts him, a jealous lover and a revelation that will shake them to the core, will they be strong enough to weather the storm???
Their story isnt an easy one to read but it is great!
MARCUS and Taryn Winters along with their six year old son Chase, have a wonderful life. They are ready to expand their perfect little family, but for some reason it's not happening as easily as they think it should. A trip to the doctor’s office delivers a crushing blow to Taryn. No one is prepared for the news she receives. With the help of their friends Marcus and Taryn try to deal the best they can with the life changing event that’s taken place.
After tragedy leaves Marcus and Chase forever changed, they need to find a way to piece their lives back together. Both of them are spiraling out of control. When Marcus gets called in to speak with Chase’s teacher his world is again turned upside down
LEXI has spent years trying to keep her past where it belongs. In the past. After her husband left her for her best friend she moved to Oakville hoping to start over. She starts to notice problems with one of her students and calls in his father for a conference. The minute she meets Marcus an intense need to help him takes over. She will fight harder than she ever has to bring Marcus and Chase back to life.

This book stole the show for me...Love me was Raw and Real. Whilst reading this book I sobbed like a baby, but I still couldn't put it down. I read through tears and my heart hurt bad. I felt every emotion right there with the characters. Kathy-Jo's writing didnt just touch my heart she broke my heart...ripped it out my chest, stomped all over it and smashed it into millions of little pieces. When I woke the next day I still felt the loss like it was my loss, it hurt to breath and I cried whilst telling my husband all about it.
The thing that made this book stand out for me was the way that we got the full story, we weren't hit with the loss straight away. We joined this couple for the final journey together. I found myself questioning what and how would I feel if it was me in their position. I felt like this story was told in 2 parts first we had the end of one couple then the beginning of another. Marcus is a man who stood out for me, he was real and what true knights in shining armour are made of.
Marcus and Taryn are the perfect couple, happily married with a 6 year old son called Chase, life is great but they would like another child. After trying for another baby they feel like something is wrong as its taking its time happening. Both agreeing to go for checkups, Marcus comes back with a clean bill of health but they are both left distraught after receiving the news that Taryn is dying. There is no cure, only chemo that will prolong the inevitable. Faced with the task of telling their friends and son...they know time is not on their side and Taryn knows that Marcus will need all the help and support he can get.
The scenes between the couple, their son and their friends are gut wrenching painful. Knowing that time isn't on their side they live every minute like its their last. There are sweet tender moments, times of anger and disbelief but never once does their love waver. They are always there to support one another. Sorrow and loss were felt with every word I read. I was there right alongside them, I felt like I was part of their story. They had sucked me in and there was nowhere else I would rather be.
3 years later and Marcus and Chase are still trying to come to terms with their loss. Marcus lost his wife but Chase didn't just loose his mother he also lost his father in a sense too.
Chase is struggling and Marcus is called to the school. He knows what they are going to say but what he doesn't expect is the reaction he has to Chase's teacher Lexi.
She stirs something in him but Marcus is still very much in love with his wife and believes he could never pursue another woman.
Lexi is instantly attracted to Marcus but she knows Chase needs her help and the last thing she needs is to fall in love with a man who is unavailable. Whilst she is trying to help Chase she finds herself falling for Marcus no matter what she tries and she thinks he likes her too. With the encouragement from his friends, son and dead wife Marcus decides he want to try and find love again...With this couple taking steps to move forward, sometimes for every step they took they took 2 back, Guilt played a big part for the decisions that Marcus made and fear made Lexi take the stand back. Leix is understanding and believes she is strong enough to help both Marcus and Chase if only she was given the chance.
Will this family ever get their HEA?
Whilst Kathy-Jo destroyed me in the beginning she slowly helped me heal right along side the characters. I couldnt ask for a better book...I had all the feels whilst reading and for a long time after.
I cant wait to read what comes next for this group of friends there are still so many stories to be told.
After growing up in Saranac Lake, a small town in upstate NY, Kathy-Jo Reinhart returned to her birth place and where she spent her summers with her grandparents, St. Petersburg, Florida, after graduating High School. The sub zero climate and piles of snow definitely weren’t a loss, in her opinion, and this is where she still resides with her Husband of fifteen years and their eleven year old son, who they lovingly refer to as their miracle baby. A name righteously earned after a very difficult and scary pregnancy with 7 1/2 months on complete bed rest.
By day, she works as an Office Manager for a construction company started by her grandfather and uncle. Like most people, she has a love hate relationship with her job, but cherishes all the years she was able to work side by side with her grandfather before he passed away.
Writing has always been something that she has loved. In school, creative writing was her favorite class. Writing a book was something she had always wanted to do, but was too afraid she didn't have what it took to make it happen. After going from working sixty hours a week to twenty, she found herself with a lot of extra time on her hands and decided it was time to take the leap. Crossing her fingers and closing her eyes, she jumped into creating the Oakville series and hasn’t looked back.
The first five star review she received after First Love, the first book in the Oakville series, was published, left her speechless, overwhelmed with emotion, and so blown away that someone really liked what she had written. Her initial fears seemed to calm and reassured her that others love her writing just as much as she loves doing it. How it will all turn out, still remains a mystery, but she’s having a blast seeing where these characters will take her.
When she isn’t spending time with her characters, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, scrapbooking, and doing ancestry research.
