Sawyer really brought the heat to the Off Series this time!
Flynn is a firefighter. Given his past, it has really shaped him to the man he is. Now he lives with a hero complex, the need to save others. Which is how he meets Rowan.
Rowan is a tough chick and she has to be. Her past has also shaped her into the person she is. She does have a soft side though. One that only Flynn can unlock.
She wants nothing to do with Flynn, but he is able to guilt her into accepting help, that she insist on paying back for, by using her dog against her. He just wants to help, but he also wants her trust. Trusting him would mean allowing herself to have a friend. Will friendship be enough for either of them?
"I call it "The Happening" and it represents those few times when the resolve to just be friends seems to melt away into oblivion. It occurs at the weirdest of times and I have no control over it. When I'm in that moment with Flynn, I want nothing more than for him to grab me and kiss me like I was the oxygen his lungs crave. When Rowan's fear gets the best of her will Flynn be there to save her from herself? Can Flynn maintain a friendship, or will he end up pushing her away?

I try to keep a serious face and she blinks at me, trying to comprehend what I just said, Then I break out into a huge grin and shoot her a wink.

I absolutely love Sawyer Bennett and her books. She seriously blows me away every time! Off Course is written from both Flynn and Rowan's POVs. The book is absolutely well written. I love how we get to alternate between the characters. Rowan does make you want to beat the crap out her for being so stubborn, but I love her character all the more for it. Flynn is the sweetest guy and definitely the most trusting. I don't think he has a horrible bone in his body, but he certainly will fight for the ones he loves. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for more from Sawyer.
