Excerpt

I look around the bar and immediately spot him. Holy shit, he’s even more gorgeous than before, I think as my eyes roam over him. My heart races like I’ve just run miles to get here, and my eyes cannot move from his. He looks just like Jace, but not the one I remember. He’s older, and rugged, not quite like the high school senior I remember. My eyes widen as I take in the bicep I’m pretty sure I couldn’t wrap my hand around. Hello muscles, I think as I try to force away the image of him hauling me up into his big arms and having his way with me.

I shake the thoughts away as I sweep my eyes over the rest of him. He’s wearing a plain black t-shirt that showcases the definition in his arms, and I can’t look away. I swear he flexes a little when he sees me looking as I witness a thick vein stretching across his forearm. I can see the beginnings of a tattoo peeking out from under his right sleeve, and I’m dying for further inspection. His dark hair is buzzed short in a standard military-style cut and his jaw is more squared than I remember. His full lips attract my attention as he wraps them around the beer bottle he’s taking a drink from, and I involuntarily shudder at the memory of where those lips have touched me.

His blue eyes penetrate mine as he’s watching me, but his face is blank, so I have no idea if he even recognizes me. Bullshit, he knows exactly who you are. His eyebrows are drawn together, and I watch him take a deep breath as he plays with his beer bottle. Ryan sets me on the ground, and I take this chance to look down and turn away from him. I barely register what Ryan and Jeremy are talking about when Sierra grabs my hand and drags me to the bar.

REVIEW

This book was a wonderful read, I read slowly savouring each word as the story came alive from the pages.
After suffering the ultimate tragedy Alexa is just existing, closing herself off from her friends and family not dealing with her grief.
I love her sister Sierra because she made it her mission to pull her sister out of her funk.
Sierra managed to master mind phone call between Alexa and her high school crush and first love Jace. Jace is a sexy Hot marine who has been pining for Alexa for the past 10 years. A silly misunderstanding kept them apart, but he has always loved her And once her heard her voice it all come back in force.
"I'm soon going to be seeing the women I've been ridiculously pinning for over the the last decade and a half."~Jace
Brady(love love love him), her best friend helped her a lot along the way to accepting the idea of of moving on a letting love in again.
"I don't want to be that person any more. I want to be able to be happy. I want to be able to love.And I think finally, deep down in my soul, know that Ty would want that for me, too"~Alexa
The main catalyst to her change was the unexpected phone call with Jace she made a lot of progress in way of personal development before having to face Jace at her sisters hight school reunion. (I know your wondering what the hell her sister graduation, well let me rewind a bit. Sierra is married to her high school sweetheart Jeremy they have a beautiful rumbustious four year old, who I will get to very soon she stole the book for me. So they all went to the same high school buy Alexa was in the year below. Jace, Sierra and Jeremy were all in the same year. But why is Alexa going to the reunion you ask? That would be Sierra's bright idea apparently Ava needs a baby sitter so her wild ever loving crazy parents can fully enjoy their reunion weekend. However unbeknownst to her that was just an excuse to get her to agree to the weekend.
So now the plot is set lets get on to the rest of the story.
Brady her best friend is beyond hilarious but he is honest and a wonderful supporting friend. He gives her some parting advice before she set off for Florida

I loved that they were both very nervous ans unsure about seeing each other again they both showed volubility which helped connect me more with the character and made me desperately want them to re-connect and for things to work out.
"I'm pretty sure she was checking me out, too, but that could just be wishful thinking. God, when did I turn into such a chick?"~Jace
The moment their eyes connect for the first time was like written magic I swear you could feel the energy between them rolling of the pages in waves. The Author describe the sweaty palm and I could feel my palms getting sweaty also from the anticipation.
"I rub my sweaty palms on my jeans as we walk up to the bar."~Alexi
She tried to avoid his as long as she could until he cut to the chase and went after her so they can catch up. He just wanted to be there for her after what she went through and they years they spent apart.
At first it was awkward as I held my breath just waiting,then just like that it was gone and its as if no time had passed at all they just soft of picked up where they left off 10 years ago. Well not exactly where they left off in the physical sense because the last time they saw each other he took her virginity the night before he left to join the army. I mean in the sense that they were best friends thick as thefts they had that level of comfort and it came right back as if it were the most natural thing.
"I pray that she can see the SOS message I'm trying to convey. A small smile comes comes to her face as she takes a pull of her bear, and quirks her eyebrows up in amusement. That little brat. she's seriously enjoying this."~Jace
I loved that they still had that amazing sizzling connection. They wanted to jump each other's bone but they sat down sept some time with each other hashing out the past and building a foundation to their friendship once more.
This book is funny as shit I tell you I laughed so hard. Sierra and her daughter cracked me up. Not only is Sierra nosy but the things she tell her daughter to saw had me dubbed over in laughter.
"Well Sierra was right! you are like a blue clit master master! Did you have some little Yoda-like creature teach you his ways?"~Alexa
For about 80% of this book I was laughing my ass off then it all got series and deep when they try to make a relations work and her completely letting go of the past to embrace her future. Their relationship was perfectly paced nothing felt rush I kind of wanted things to happen sooner because I just wanted it all to work out but the way Tessa laid it out was the right way to go. It made the story more real and believable

The story had pretty much all the elements covered including some Hot sexy scenes.

Kid in books are just the best and Ava was no exception she stole the book and my heart. She adores her uncle Jace I really liked the relationship he had with her. Having her in his life brought clarity to what he wanted in the future.
"My Mommy says that you are the best thing that could happen to Aunt Lexi. She's been sad for a long time, and I like seeing her laugh with you. Daddy says its cause you're hot, but that's scary. If you ahve a fever, you need to go to the doctor and get a shot like I do."~Alexa
Overall I loved this book its refreshing the writing flows well the story is very sweet and touching. I freaking love the ending absolutely perfect.
Knox is Jace's best friend once he was introduced I just wanted to wrap him in my arms and run my fingers through is defiant longer hair. I just knew the next story had to be about him. His story is just screaming to be told.

Can not wait from Knox's story.
This book should have gotten a five star but there was about ten 10% that lost me a little bit the spirit in the writing was not connecting so for my blog 4.5 stars for Amazon I will round up to 5 because its a wonderful heart-warming book.
