Mother's Day With Savannah & Kayden Knox From The Savannah Series By Danielle Jamie
Savannah’s First Mother’s Day
This morning has been amazing. It’s my first mother’s day and Kayden has gone above and beyond to make sure Colton and Brayden give me the best mother’s day. The boys were adorable this morning. They’re just learning how to walk and came stumbling into our bedroom with wild flowers in each of their little hands and with Kayden right behind them holding a tray full of pancakes and a large cup of my favorite coffee.
We’re spending Mother’s Day weekend here at the family cabin on Lake Travis, just outside Austin.
It’s been perfect.
I love having the boys here, it’s private and serene. They loved spending all yesterday with Kayden out on the boat fishing with their little fishing poles. It’s been wonderful just us and our boys with no one else around.
I just finished showering and slipping on a new sundress Kayden got me. He told me to get dressed and meet him and the boys outside on the stone patio.
Sliding my sandals on quickly, I head down the wooden staircase and out the double doors onto the large deck. I peer over the railing and instantly spot Kayden looking as handsome and breathtaking as ever sitting on a lounge chair while the boys play with their toys at his feet.
The sun is shining down on them through the tall trees and there’s a perfect, gentle, warm breeze blowing off of the water causing my hair to dance around behind me.
I tear up a little as I gaze down at my entire world below me. They are my everything. I never thought I’d love Kayden more but seeing him as a father to our boys has only made me fall even deeper in love with him.
As I make my way over to them Kayden looks up and gives me the biggest sweetest smile as his eyes slowly slide over my body taking in the view of me in the new dress.
“You look absolutely stunning, baby.”
Sliding onto his lap and hooking my arms around neck I press a small kiss to his lips smiling against them. Pulling away I run my fingers through his hair, “Thanks. I love the dress, and everything you’ve done so far today. So what’s this surprise you’ve been teasing me about all afternoon?”
Kayden slides his gaze from me down to the boys and lets out a low chuckle as Colton and Brayden stand and waddle over to use yelling, “mama…dada.” They make my heart flutter every time I hear them say that to us.
“I know you have zero patience so we won’t make you wait any longer for your surprise.” Kayden says sarcastically giving me a devilish grin.
He knows me well enough to know I’m awful with surprises. I am always eager to know what it is and the wait kills me!
Hugging me tighter Kayden presses a kiss to my neck as he pulls a wrapped box from his cargo shorts pocket.
“The boys and I got you a little gift and we really hope you like it.”
Tearing up I scoop Colton onto my Lap while Kayden sets Braydon on his and he helps me tear open the present. As soon as the pretty floral wrapping paper is torn off I see it’s a square black velvet box.
Popping it open for me Kayden reveals the most stunning piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen. That’s saying a lot because I cherish my wedding set, promise ring and heart necklace he’s given me.
“You like it?” He asks as he removes the gorgeous charm bracelet from the box and clips it on my wrist that’s shaking as I try to hold back from crying.
I nod my head yes as I try to find my voice, “I love it…it’s so beautiful.”
Running his fingers across the European charm bracelet he points out the few charms he’s added, “You have an infinity charm bead for my infinite love for you, two engraved hearts with emerald birthstones on them that have the boys names, a sea shell for our wedding, a horse shoe for one of my favorite pass times with you.” Locking his mesmerizing green eyes onto mine he says, “I did pink beads because I know it’s your favorite color. I left room for you to add to it with each new memory we make.”
Wiping away the tears from my cheeks, I smile through my tears at the man who over and over again steals my heart.
“I love it. It’s perfect. Seeing the boys names engraved on these tiny little hearts is the most precious thing I’ve ever seen. You never cease to amaze me!” I say fingering the tiny silver hearts.
Kissing Colton’s hair I whisper, “I love you.” Before leaning towards Brayden and fluttering kisses on his chubby cheeks. “I love you, too and my beautiful present.”
Looking up at Kayden I give him a small smile before crashing my lips to his for a passionate and loving kiss that shows him how much I love him and everything he’s done for me today.
Finally parting from each other’s lips he beams down at me, “Only the best for the best mama our boys could ask for.” Kayden says with his sexy southern drawl that makes my heart flutter and my breath hitch.
“Happy Mother’s Day, my sweet, sweet, Savannah.”
I've missed Savannah and Kayden!
