This was a great read that touched so many sensitive issues
that it had me feeling so many emotions I didn’t know what way was up. This
story is beautifully written in dual POV and we see what is happening today and
what has happened in the past.
Garrett has made it; he has become the famous rock star he
always wanted to be. Successful career, great parents, fantastic band mates and
woman at the drop of a hat what more could a guy want. That is until someone from
his past turns up with life changing news. Garrett has a choice to make but
will it be the right one.
Sam has grown up into a very independent woman, and loves
her job as a NICU nurse, that is until the day she is blamed for the death of a
baby who dies on her watch and she is suspended. Living with the guilt every
day isn’t healthy and when her Aunty Peggy asks her to help her friend care for
a baby he never knew he had and one who suffers from NAS, she aggress.
She knows this will be no walk in the park but she is less
than impressed when she meets Garrett, she is feisty and she lets him know
exactly what she thinks. Garrett really struggles with all the changes, he is
more than happy to leave Sam to look after Kai until his mother intervenes and
sends him home.
Circumstances have thrown these two together and they start
to build a relationship built on rocky foundations, there is a definite attraction
between them but something deeper is connecting them and when everything from
their past comes to light their romance may be short live.
