((NEW RELEASE & REVIEW)) EDGE OF RETRIBUTION by Jacob Chance
Title: Edge of Retribution
Author: Jacob Chance
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: May 10, 2018
Landing my dream job has me eagerly looking
toward the future. But when I see Nash Garrison after six long years, my world
is thrown completely off its axis.
He was my only friend
and confidant during the worst days of my life, and I fell hopelessly in love
with him. No eighteen year old girl could resist his protective nature and
charming grin. I was no exception.
Now, together, we’re
about to bring down the man responsible for my parents’ deaths. Revenge has
been the driving force fueling every decision I’ve ever made - except for
Nash.
What is it about him
that sends the most rational parts of my brain into a tailspin? And how do I
balance on the edge of retribution without tumbling into heartbreak once more?

Jacob Chance has fast become one of my favourite authors and Edge of Retribution has firmly cemented the reasons why. I was completely blown away with this book and i didn’t want the story to end. In my opinion the writing flows effortlessly from one chapter to the next, written from both characters point of view, that left me eagerly anticipating what was coming next.
At 18 years old, all Zoe should be worried about is what to do next after high school, she knows she wants to follow in her parents foot steps and join the FBI but she could have imagined the nightmare that was waiting for her. Instead of her parents greeting her when she returns home she is kidnapped by a Russian gang and force to watch her parents murder. Knowing that she’s next Zoe thinks quick and manages to escape to safety. Put in a safe house to keep her safe before the trial of her parents murderers , Zoe is put under intense protection.
Nash has been assigned to protect Zoe, he’s good at his job, one of the best but he didn’t expect to be instantly attracted to the 18 year old. At 28 he knows he can’t act on his desires but Zoe just keeps on pulling him in. One night when the safe house comes under attack Nash is injured and the pair are separated, completely loosing contact and left to get on with their own lives.
Fast forward 6 years and Zoe has made it as an FBI agent, the one thing that has kept her going over the last 6 years is revenge for her parents death. Seeing Nash again old feeling start to resurface but can Zoe stay focused on the task at hand or will her feeling get the better of her.
Edge of Retribution had my pulse racing from the start. The book is in two different parts, Zoe at 18 and Zoe at 24. I loved reading the difference between young and older Zoe and Nash. The teenager Zoe with a school girl crush transforming into a women fighting her feelings as she falls in love.
There is nothing i didn’t like about this book, all the characters are strong and well defined, leaving me curious to know more about the side characters even though Zoe and Nash stole the show.
So basically i love, love, love this book! Definitely worth more than 5* another amazing book from Jacob Chance.
