My life is a living nightmare.
Everything that matters to me always gets taken away.
He was only eleven and I still couldn’t protect him.
I won’t let her matter.
The girl with mermaid eyes and flashy red hair.
I won’t be the reason heaven meets hell.

Flash is book 2 in the Penmore series but I read it as a stand alone. I’m not usually a huge fan of college romances but wanted to give this one a go, I’m so glad a did!
With fantastic characters who are easy to connect and fall in love with, a storyline with so many twists and turns to keep you hooked it was definitely worth the read.
Cooper looks like a stereotypical bad boy, tall, muscular, tattoos, rides a motor bike and as sexy as hell! But his reputation and brooding personality don’t exactly make him the most approachable guy on his first day in college but he’s done everything he can to get a place at Penmore but more importantly a place on the football team, that’s all that matters right now. Until he sees Millie again, he hasn’t seen her for two years, not that she has clue who he is and that’s how it should stay. Someone as pure and innocent looking as Millie wouldn’t want to associate herself with an ex-con but cooper just can’t help himself.
As a single mum, Millie’s trying her hardest to make a better life for her 2 year old daughter, living with her daughters grandmother, the only person she can call family, in a run down house wasn’t exactly what she had in mind but it’s better than nothing. Working secretly as a burlesque dancer to make ends meet Millie has decided to go back to college. She can’t let anything distract her especially not the hottest man she’s ever laid eye’s on, especially not when he’s intent on becoming her personal body guard! But the more time the two spend together the chemistry between them grows until they can no longer stay away from each other, but with both holding on to ghosts of their past and with an outside danger threatening them and their love ones are they meant to be?
This is the first book I’ve read from this author but I will definitely be looking out for more in the Penmore series. Flash completely captivated me, it was such an easy read that before I knew it I had finished the book. I’m excited to see where the author will take the series next.

Malorie first started reading romance books when she was twelve years old.

Her mother handed her a copy of Nora Robert’s Midnight Bayou and with resignation said, “Here you’ll love it, just skip the sex scenes.”

It was the only time she ever got to rebel as a kid, because after that day she spent her entire adolescence (and a lot of her adulthood for that matter) sitting inside devouring every romance book ever written.
