When Quinn Montgomery leaves the horrors of her past behind
her, she never expects to run straight into the arms of a blue-eyed cowboy.
Sneaking into the stables and getting caught in a life-threatening fire was
never part of the plan. And neither was falling in love with the man who saved
her life, Brody Parker.
The two share an undeniable connection, and slowly Quinn
begins to open up about her past. Putting her trust in the wrong person has
burned her before, so when Brody asks her to stay at the ranch, she can't help
but wonder if she’s about to make another bad decision by staying. A decision
that could hurt everyone she’s come to care for.
Will Quinn choose to run from the past that threatens to
catch up with her? Or will she stay and fight, sacrificing whatever it takes
for the man who sets her heart on fire?

whatever it takes
Author: Laura Farr
Rating: 5 *
My god! Laura Farr sucked me in with this book and spat me out a jumbled mess at the other end. Right from the start i was completely and utterly consumed with Brody and Quinn’s journey and it was one of those stories where i just didn’t want it to end.
Through all her life it’s just been Quinn and her mum, until two years ago her mum married Evan. Her mum was completely in love with him and that made Quinn happy, unfortunately a year later Quinn’s mum died leaving her in the care of Evan. Evan was drinking more and more and what started as a slap across the face for a minor understanding turned in to broken ribs, with Quinn fearing for her life, she runs to the only place she can think Marble Falls. Once there while searching for a job she comes across the local ranch in the middle of the night in the pouring rain, taking refuge in a barn she settles down for the night before attempting to get a job in the morning.
At 26 Brody’s happy with his playboy lifestyle, living and working with his family on the ranch, never dating the same girl more than once or twice, he’s not looking for more. A freak accident on the ranch brings Quinn into his life and his perspective completely changes. He can’t work out why but his protective instincts are in overdrive with Quinn, he can’t stay away. Bringing her to live with his family the connection between them strengthens until neither one can hold back.
But of course the path to true love never runs smoothly, just when life couldn’t get any more perfect Quinn’s past catches up with her and her fate is put into the hands of another. Can Brody save her? Or will their romance be cut short before it’s ever really started?
I’m completely in love with Brody, he’s the whole package for me and the whole cowboy thing had my pulse racing! Quinn is super sweet and if you want anyone to get their happily ever after it would be her.
Whatever it takes isn’t a complex book, it slightly predictable but with a couple of twists thrown in but the writing just sweeps you off your feet and carries you through the book, all the characters are well written and loveable, which left me wanting to know more about them.
I read this book as a standalone and didn’t realise it was book 3 in a series but I’m definitely going to read the first two books now.
As a standalone or continuation of the series this is a truly heart-warming read and well deserves 5*
