AUTHORS: Alex is responding here to a compliment from Dani Mann, making light of a very serious situation. We wanted to show there are some very funny lines and funny situations to break the tension in these book. It really isn’t all unrelenting pain and angst!
Brooke looked from Maryanne’s glowing face to Bryce’s. It hit her out of nowhere, like a kick in the chest. Standing there like that with that look on his face that said you’re just the person I needed to see right now; he looked so much like his brother. Like Seth used to look when he still cared about her. Suddenly, her throat ached.
AUTHORS: This is a favorite passage, because it illuminates not just Bryce’s genuine attraction and growing love for Maryanne, but also highlights Brooke’s loss, grief and loneliness.

About the Authors:
NORAH WILSON is a USA Today bestselling author of romantic suspense and paranormal romance. She lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, with her husband, two adult children, dog Chloe, and kitty Ruckus.
HEATHER DOHERTY fell in love with writing while taking creative writing courses with Athabasca University. Motivated by her university success, and a life-long dream of becoming a novelist, she later enrolled in the Humber School for Writers under the mentorship of David Adams Richards.
