BLOG TOUR STOP~HER by Carey Heywood
You know her side of the story, now learn his.
"It was useless. I felt branded beneath my skin by a girl who left without even saying goodbye."
When Will Price was assigned a partner for a sixth grade class project he had no idea she would become his best friend. After years of friendship, she eventually became so much more. Then, one day she left with no explanation.
Will’s life shattered right before his eyes and he was left alone to pick up the pieces. Floundering without her, Will must figure out a way to carry on, to find a way to exist without her.
Seven years later, a chance encounter leaves him desperate to get her back. He has one week to make her his again. Not everyone gets a second chance with the love of their life and Will is determined to never lose her again.
Loved every single word, this is the first book I have read which is re-written from male lead POV that I like this much. Normally you get the exact same story. Her is different very much so the first 40% is a complete different story Will takes us back to 7th grade when they first meet until the week before the wedding when Sarah returns after 7 years. Most of that is nothing that was covered in Him but all new glimpse into how close they were and when Will realized he like Sarah more than just a friend. His fear over renewing their friendship if he were to reveal those feelings because he has no clue she is also in love with him.
I loved that we got to see how he and Brian became such good friends. Bromance it was very bitter sweet.
I really enjoyed the writing and the way it flowed effortlessly page to page.Obviously some years were missed but I did not felt like I missed anything. The way it was written and the format ensured everything was covered.
It's only about 20% of the book that overlaps and even then I felt like I have never read their story. It was fresh and engaging.
The finally 25% is after book one ended, they are now trying to build a life together and get the future they were destined to have.
This is my first 5 stars for a book re-written from the opposite POV it's my absolute pleasure to do so, it's well deserved
It could be a travesty not to award this book shiny 5 perfect stars.
