Hard-nosed and self-reliant Dallis O'Brien has had her fair share of devastation. Her father's tragic accident sparked what seemed like a domino effect of heartbreak and loss. Unable to shake the fear of enduring any more pain, she builds walls around her heart, hoping to heal on her own.
Dallis' road to recovery is disrupted when she meets Grayson Rivera, a tattooed, coffee shop owner who, by appearances alone, isn't her typical match. Stubborn and hesitant to let him in, Dallis finally succumbs to Grayson's persistence, where he challenges her to face her loss while also having the walls of her heart broken down.
With Grayson's assistance, Dallis must decide if she is willing to learn how to be weak in order to be strong

MY REVIEW

Shattered is a beautiful heartfelt tale of love, lost, letting go, being vulnerable and learning its OK to be weak sometimes.
Dallis, a young photographer living in Seattle has experienced a number of lost over the past three years leaving here alone in the world; apart from her best friend Miranda.
Upon meet Grayson a cafe/bar owner sparks fly between them; their instant connection scared her so she hid and avoided him for as long as possible but, you can never deny the wants of your heart for too long.

"Every time we touch, we jump back like the feeling we feel is a bad thing"

their chemistry sizzled and electricity literally flowed between them, they had that special magnetic pull. However he represented her biggest fears.

"He sparked something inside of me that i'd been repressing for fear of losing again"

They both suffered tremendous lost that provided common ground and aid in braking the ice Dallis forged around herself.
It was truly touching the journey Dallis has to embark on,  her character is the queen of masking thing and denial. She has created strength from fear and pain, but in order  for her to heal the wounds she covers with a smile she must learn to become weak again, and build the right kind of personal strength.
Grayson has been through what she is going experiencing so he is the right person to push her into accepting reality and moving on with her life. This has a negative impact on the budding relationship at first because Dallis would much rather live the nice cozy reality she has created for herself, instead of facing the pain and allowing it to heal.
Grayson is patient, supportive, compassionate and extremely understanding   but their is only so much he can do.
One thing that never wavered was their   intense connection

"His voice lowered to a husky whisper, sending shock waves through my body, with just his words alone"

C.C did a very good job at crating the perfect balance sad, happy, serious, and humor. she always bring her own special flair i.e "Jackassery" that made me laugh out loud
I became a fan of C.C Brown after reading her duet Novel "Red Flags" One very special thing about this book is that her writing has matured immensely, I'm not sure  you can describe someone's writing as elegant but that is exactly what C.C has pulled off with an effortless flow.
I gave this book five stars not only because it was wonderful fulfilling story that gives you a beautiful satisfying ending but also because this was so different from her previous books. this shows her versatility and ability to explore a vast variety of emotions and situations.
Its Ok to be Shattered, you can always put yourself back together like the saying "what does not kill you, only makes you stronger"

Just a book reading, writing loving, mommy and USMC wife! :)

I love to write, even if it isn't what is conventional and makes everyone feel giddy inside. I usually pull from dreams, or ideas that just thrust themselves into my head. I have what some would describe as a dry sense of humor, and I think its conveyed in my writing. I like to think I am a kick ass chick, but I can also be sensitive. I'm learning to grow thick skin, and in this field, it is definitely needed!
I won't put anything out that I am not absolutely proud of, but like E.L. James said, "I can't own people's reactions to it." Thanks for reading my work... I do appreciate it!
