MY REVIEW OF COLONIZATION

Wow just WOW......I think it's time for a little confession I might be a plastic fantastic as I like to call it (well what I have been called since high school) but Science Fiction  is my guilty pleasure, no one apart from my husband knows this.
it does not really fit with my image I suppose. Beneath my exterior you will find the biggest geek. I have every Science Fiction series and film you could think of....all hidden under my bed of course lol.
I wanted you all to understand this before I got into my review. I might love Science Fiction but I have NEVER read a Sci Fi  book; why the Fuck not I have no clue....

When the invitation appeared in my inbox to review this book I saw Sci Fi and immediately wanted to delete the message but something in the synopsis caught  my attention.
I think at first it reminded me Terra Nova my curiosity won out  so I signed up to read and  review.....little did I know that this one book would open a whole new world for me.

The Book

You are  pulled into another galaxy,  time and dimension upon starting this book. Its detailed painting the perfect picture nothing was left out, and well written you  felt as if you are  there along with all the characters.
I felt each bump on "The New Dawn" each vine clinging to my legs and arms. I went on a journey of discovery and adventure my pulse leaped with each new discovery and problems faced. I was sucked into another world a very believable one. The crystals, greenhouse the giant flowers everything I could practically feel. the  fear of been in the jungle.
The writer did such a brilliant job capturing me I became each character I felt Annie's (Andromeda) confusion as her emotions were raged turmoil torn between two loves and her disappointment she felt when she believed she has failed. Every word cut me open.

The book was not sad by I felt like crying due to the sheer pleasure I got from reading something I sent hours watching it was such a different experience that it overwhelmed me

The Story

How do you handle the pressure when the fate of an entire generation rest upon your shoulders

Throw in  Your heart being pulled and tugged like a game of tag and war.

Fight like hell to save your people and agonise to find oneself and ones heart. Boy did Annie put up a fight.
Annie (Andromeda) I liked her from the get go she is just a young girl trying to figure life out just like the rest of us.
At first she appears weak and misguided because of her love for Sirius, her childhood friend. she clings to him using him to define who she is....which a lot of people do. for the survival of the colony life mate and jobs are assigned to each individual. she get a job she is k with but not the one thing that mattered to her most the man she loves.

At first I taught this story was going to be about defying the rules for love I actually wanted it to be that because I really like Sirius perfect good looking charming a little bit mischievous.  they had a genuine connection.
In walks Corvus not so perfect lean, broad  average Jo with a enormous amount of potential. He slowly worms his way your heart  and you start to root for him that Annie hives him a chance. he got more wonderful as the story progresses. We realise he has a lot more in common with Annie than she taught . they could not be more perfect for each other....But will Annie realise this before its too late?
Corvus feel undeserving of Annie so he spends each day ensuring he becomes someone who is deserving of her ....will it be too little too late?
through great challenges Annie slowly becomes the strong, independent, smart young women she was destined to become. I was proud of her when she was finally able to see the bigger picture. and discover the true self and strength

Quote "for Corvus I was enough, I was his dream." My favourite quote  realizing you do not pretend to be someone your not in order to get a person to love you but just who you are is perfect for someone else. no pretense just you is enough for that other person.
My kindle has gotten a makeover I now own many titles of Sci Fi romance books.

                                     MY REVIEW OF RECONNAISSANCE

This is Nova Williams story from book one I did not like her in book one she was a complete bitch to Annie; and you all know I loved Annie.
we are able to see and understand why Nova is the way she is. she is from a dysfunctional family and she works exceptionally hard for her achievements. This still does not excuse her bitchy nasty behavior.
she grew on me the more I read and the bottom line is she is just trying to find love and be loved in equal measures. Really and truly who doesn't?
The colony is under treat and this is Nova's turn to prove herself. After discovering an alien vessel. She along with her chosen lifemate Sirius who she is in love with but has pushed away and three other embark on a mission to make contact with the ship and find out their purpose for being on their planet.
their journey is filled with deadly adventure and action.
Nova love story was on that could be understood by many loving someone that's in love with someone else.
Nova will discover that love and admiration can be forged in the face of adversity.
"I'd wanted him to look at me that way  for so long.Too bad it took an alien invasion and us almost getting killed to make it happen"

Being caught in a life or death situation Nove and Sirius must learn to trust and lean on each other if they are to survive to warn the colony, before its too late.

This book was much more action packed than number one every single page if over flowing with action and terrifying new challenges.

Aubrie did a great job once more, the this book is well written  and will hold  attention until the very last word .

About the Author-
Aubrie grew up watching the original Star Wars movies over and over again until she could recite and reenact every single scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek the Next Generation-favorite character was Data by far-, and Indiana Jones. But, her all time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.

Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "A concert flutist" when she grew up. When she made that happen, she decided one career was not enough and embarked as a fantasy, sci fi author. Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.
