Holy Shit! Sawyer Bennett has completely wowed me again!!
Renner met Cillian once before when she was visiting Dublin, but she was young and innocent then. Now she is back, but the last thing she needs is to get involved with Cillian. She is in Dublin hiding out, her world has shattered, she cannot take much more.
Cillian is a sexy Irish rockstar. He made it big after she last saw him, but for now.he is home on a break. He never expected he would see Renner again, but that didn't mean he didn't think and dream of her all of the time. Now that she is back, he isn't letting her go so easy. He wants her a he will not stop until he has her.
"That I do. Five years ago, I kissed a girl that was fresh, and young, and innocent... and so not ready for the likes of me" Releasing her chin, I rake my eyes down her body and slowly move them up again. I like what I see... a lot, and I take pleasure in the fact that her breath hitches just under my perusal. "You're all grown up, Renner. I'm betting you could handle me now."
Renner has surely grown up. She has also toughened up too. She cannot and will not let him think he can do or say whatever he want to her. She makes sure he knows this too. Unfortunately, Cillian doesn't plan on giving up so easily.
"My cailin alainn has some claws. I'm going to enjoy them when they're sunk deep into my back while I'm riding you."
Of course, Renner still has to stick to her guns. No way in hell is Cillian getting that close to her. She cannot deny though that he is definitely attractive. She is not interested in him though, or at least that is what she tries to convince both Cillian and herself.
"Now that's just a fib, Renner. You have plenty of interest in me. Don't think I haven't noticed the way you've been staring at me the last few nights. I can see the interest in your eyes. I can read it in your body. In fact, I bet if I leaned in to kiss you right now, your eyes would glaze over just a bit and your mouth would part open, ready for me to taste you. Shall I prove it?"
Renner does manage to hold him off. For a while that is. However, learning more and more about him is starting to crack her. The icing on the cake though is when Cillian comes to her rescue and she relizes maybe there is more than meets the eye. One more problem must strike though.
Maeve is Cillian's psychotic ex-lover.... oh yeah, and band mate. SHIT! She is not quite done with Cillian, but he is too naive to see just how far she will take it. She knows just the way to start drawing him in though. She decides to use a suicide attempt. Renner knows there is more to Maeve then meets the eye and she doesn't like it. Her feelings are justified when Maeve corners her in the bathroom.
"Fair enough. But I play dirty, lityle girl. Oh, and if you're thinking to tell Cillian about this little exchange, I wouldn't if I were you. There's nothing he hates more than to see two women bickering over him. That will cause him to turn tail and run quickly."
Of course, Renner doesn't say a thing. Besides what do she and Cillian really have anyways? Can Maeve really come between them? Will Cillian see through Maeve's deceptions, or will it all just blow up in his face?
I love Sawyer Bennett's books. I still have yet to find something that could make me stray. Off Course just confirmed that her books just keep getting better. Besides, who doesn't love reading about a sexy musician? Off Course is written alternating between both Renner and Cillian's point if views. It definitely makes for a great book when we are getting to see what is going through both stubborn people's minds. Although, I could definintely kick Cillian's ass for being so naive. Luckily, everything formed to ,gether to make an amazing book. I am extremely excited to read about Flynn next!
