EXCERPT
“I can’t believe you talked me into this,” I complain for the umpteenth time as we line up outside the nightclub.
“Stop your whinging you owe me a night out, you both do,” Kat says beside me.
“How do you figure that?”  Kat’s cousin April asks from my other side.
“You went clubbing without me last time!” she says, pretending to be upset.
“Well you were on your honeymoon!” I say dramatically rolling my eyes as we reach the bouncer at the door.  We all show our IDs and he lets us through.
“That’s beside the point.”   Kat pouts at me over her shoulder.
The music is loud as we enter the club.  It’s dark and crowded.  There is a faint blue tinge to the smoky room as the lights flash in time to the beat.  We make our way to the bar and order our drinks.  I scan the crowd while waiting for our order.  My heart is thumping as the music vibrates through me, though it’s not the music creating the nervous energy around me.  It’s Nick.  I’m worried I might bump into him here.  He loves to go clubbing and even though I’m not sure if this is a club he goes too, I can’t help but be reminded of the last time I went dancing.
“Will you relax?”  Kat whisper-yells in my ear.  “We are here to have fun!  Just chill.”
“I’m trying,” I say as I grab my drink and change from the top of the bar.
We walk over to a tall table that doesn’t have any stools around it.  It seems they have all been taken away to be occupied by people at other tables, which is frustrating as my shoes are already killing me.  I don’t know how I let April talk me into wearing them.  She really has the power of persuasion down to a fine art.  I had bought these shoes on a whim, months ago, but had only worn them once before tossing them in the back of my wardrobe, now I remember why.
I look down at the strappy silver heels that are causing me grief, she is right though, they do look good and they do match the glittery black dress I’m wearing.  It was also a spur of the moment purchase, but it was more recent, I bought it today, when Kat and I went shopping.  I had tried the tired excuse of not having anything to wear, therefore being unable to go clubbing.  But of course Kat only insisted on a shopping spree to fix the issue.  I should have known that would happen.  I’ve lost some weight this past couple of weeks and so I felt confident in the sexy little number, before I left the apartment that is.  Now I’m here all I can think about is the possibility of seeing Nick, so all confidence has flown out the window. And the form-fitting and short dress I am wearing now feels way too revealing.
“You are a girl after my own heart!” April laughs, as I nervously finish off my drink way ahead of the other two.  “Well if it helps you get out of this slump, I’m gonna buy you another.  Same again ladies?”  Kat and I both nod as April finishes off her drink and then heads back to the bar.
“You okay?” Kat asks, giving my arm a squeeze.
“Yeah.”  I shrug my shoulders.
“I know it’s only been two weeks, but you are allowed to have fun you know?  You deserve a little fun Em,” she says reassuringly.  I force a smile her way.  “For me?” she says in a whiny voice, batting her eyelashes at me, making my smile turn genuine.
“Okay.”
REVIEW
Finding my way. BOOK 1
I read this to get the back-story before reading Crossroads I was only suppose to skim but once I stated I read from cover to cover. I fell in love with Megan's writing and her approach to this story. I loved the different POV and all aspect of the story is covered from different angles.
The characters are relatable and real. Emma is young women just going through the motions not knowing who she is or what she wants to do with her life like many 23 year old. She is not particularly ambitious or driven she likes what she does but not passionate about it.
Nick is a 26 year old station kiosk worker  and DJ by night that still live at home with his parents; his life choices are critiqued by his father who puts him down every chance he gets. (Sounds like anyone you know, probably) that's my point all the characters can be found in your day to day life. They sound like normal people I know, people in similar situations. It's fiction but its not too at fetched. I hate when books are too elaborate and over the top. this is just mellow and realistic with real life accuracy.
At first  I really didn't understand why Seth POV was relevant but by the end when the final messages of the book was delivered I totally got it.
Loneliness can be depressing and when companionship is offered  it can be blinding and creating a longing for more than what is actually offered. How love can sometimes be one sided.
Clearly I enjoyed this book since I could not put it down.
4 stars From Natasha
CROSSROADS BOOK 2
I started this book right after finishing book 1. It picks up pretty much picks up where Finding My Way finished.
Em broke up with Seth because he loved her but the feelings were no mutual, someone had already worm their way in and stolen her heart ......Nick. But Em and Nick are also apart and miserable might I add. A very long list of misunderstandings and bad communication left them both feeling hurt and rejected by each other.
They bump onto each other at the train station where Nick works and the place where they first met. Since the break up of the "Friendship" between the two Em has avoided the train station at all cost until her car broke down. Just as she thinks she has avoided Nick at the station he appears behind her and they have an awkward exchange that left them more confused over the situation and in need of answers.
She goes back to ignoring him after their implosive fight and he sets out to get answers and make right the mess they have found themselves in. After a few explosive confrontation they come up with "the arrangement" we'll no so much Nick but Em and he just went along with it.
How long can two people in love pretend no to be?!? Errr if your Em and Nick not very long their connection and relationship is pretty intense like a volcano ready to explode.........and that is exactly what they did. I loved all their bust up because they always came from a place of love or frustration of their  impending separation, when Nick leaves to go  traveling indefinitely.
Once again the writing was a joy to read the flow perfect, and the transition between the two POV's effortless. I love this approach of the even prospective. Normally in a book where the male lead makes significant changes a lot of the time their  taught process are mostly assumed where as with Crossroads you get the taught process behind every action and reaction. I was able to really connect with Nick's character been able to see how and when the transformation from man whore commitment fobe to falling in love and wanting to spend every second with Em.
The pace was easy to follow and the character development so evident. In book one Em was shy, afraid of what comes next, unsure of herself, just very introverted. But now she really comes to life and blossom wonderfully at the beginning she is still a little unsure of herself but Nick soon dispel all her self doubt with his kind words and loving eyes. She is strong, sexy, beautiful, confident and goes after what she wants and follow her heart which I feel s sometimes the hardest thing to do.
I'm giving this book 4.5 stars the love making was excellent and are tastefully written. Book one had pretty much no sex at all but the one makes up for it and more.  Really sweet romantic story with a great realistic ending.
I'm really looking forward to reading more from Megan Keith. Love her writing.
About The Author
Megan Keith is a married, mother of three, living in a small country town in New South Wales, Australia. She has a constant thirst for a good story, whether it is in books, music, movies, on TV, or just plain old-fashioned gossip. She has always had a creative side and loves to let her imagination run wild. On a few occasions over the years, Megan has put those imaginings into a written story, but never dreamed of publishing. She has always loved to read, but it wasn’t until she got given a Kindle that it became a full-blown addiction. Her introduction to the world of Indie Authors re-ignited her passion for writing and she has spent the past ten months working on what was supposed to be one book, but has now turned into three. Finding My Way is the first of the trilogy, and is also her debut self-published novel.
