REVIEW & INTERVIEW~TAKING SOMETHING By Elizabeth Lee

I know what you're thinking. “You were such a jerk, Nick!”  Believe me, I know I screwed up the best thing I had going in my life, but that was kind of my thing. I’d learned how to run cons before I could even form complete sentences, and I'd always been selfish.  But I changed.  Lila forgave me, my brother and I were getting along, and I was trying to make a name for myself in the music world.

At least that was what I was trying to do when I negotiated my way into the recording studio with pop superstar Sadie Sinclair. I thought it would be a piece of cake—charm my way into her heart and into her record label's good graces.

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I got mixed up in a web of lies, manipulation, and deception. A web that had me questioning my motives and desires altogether.

Was the fame and fortune really worth the price?

This book is something else for sure, I completely fell in love with the characters and Elizabeth's writing technique all the same. I was enveloped in the world of Nick and Gia. From the synopsis I taught it was going to mainly be about Nick and Sadie finding love, but this story was so much more and I am happy it was not what I taught  originally, the story far exceeded my expectation.
I loved the mixed bag of characters, the flow everything just felt right . I enjoyed that this was not your typical story it had originality, substance, humour it was just a really good story. I thoroughly enjoyed every second.
Nick has always relied on his  charms and unique skills at conning people into believing any bull S he wanted them to believe in order to get what ever he wanted.
His new quest is becoming a music producer, something that is is actually very good at but old habits die hard as he decides to charm and sleep his way into the industry rather than just letting this work speak for it self.
"I'm just saying you might want to consider convincing her in a way that makes her not think she has a future with you. Nothing is worse than a scorned women Nick."
Sadie Sinclair is a famous pop star one that Nick sees as his meal ticket to bigger and better things and he is set on the methods he knows best despite his closes friends advertising him against his plans. But Nick knows best he is going to do whatever he wants anyway even being a dick to those closes to him. Upon arriving in LA he starts laying on thick with Sadie who is very receptive to his advances and it does not take them very long to become an item.
Can a relation that is built on lies and alterer motives really last especially under the spotlight?
"Lila and Gia has been right all along and I was just now getting a damn clue. Because I was  a complete and total dumbass"~Nick
By the time Nick finally realises his mistakes its already way too late his future, carer, the women and  child he has come to love are all tainted and twisted by the choices he made. Sadie wants him and she will stop at nothing to achieve her goal. "Nothing is worse than a scorned women Nick."
T truly loved how this story unfolded I loved the characters they are fresh and very much just like people of today. Elizabeth did a great job  with the writing and plot/character developments.
I highly recommend you will be laughing you socks off.

When I'm not writing or playing the part of wife and mother, you can find me dancing back-up for Beyonce, singing back-up for Miranda, or sunning myself on the beach with a drink in hand.  Here's the thing about being born and raised in a small town—you have a very vivid imagination!  Now, I channel it all to create stories where the girl always ends up with the right guy, first kisses are magical, and a happy ending is just that!

I am joined today by Nick, Gia, Landry and Audrey from Taking Something by Elizabeth Lee
Omg I’m so excited to chat with you all…..please come in and take a seat!!!!

  1. Nick, you have been on quite the journey over the last few years….How has that changed you as a person and you’re prospective on life?
Nick: It's been crazy, I know that much.  But, I'm so lucky with the way things worked out.  I definitely learned what's important in life and what's not.

  1. Gia, life has thrown you quite a few curve balls in the past. What was it like becoming a teen parent and giving up your dreams to protect your daughter?
Gia: It was the best curve ball that could have been thrown at me and I feel like I hit it for a homerun.  It's a crazy thing when you become a parent because you stop thinking about yourself.  It was tough having her so young, but I wouldn't change a thing.

  1. Landry you had the shock of your life discovering you had a daughter. What went through your head when Gia finally told you and you met Audrey for the first time?
Landry: It threw me for a loop, but as soon as I laid eyes on her I knew she was mine.  I couldn't imagine my life without Audrey now.

  1. Audrey sweetie you are so beautiful. How did you feel when your mom told you Landry Westwood was your father and you actually met him?
Audrey: I was super excited and a little confused.  It explained why I'm such a good dancer though! *giggles*

  1. Gia you said you were born to sing, how does it feel to be doing something you love for a living and happy in love?
Gia: It's a dream come true! I was really worried about being able to handle it all, but with the help of this guy... *nudges Nick*  I've found a good balance.

  1. Nick, if Gia had not shown up in Chicago wanting a do over, Do you think you would have ever gone after her or get involved with music again?
Nick: It was only a matter of time before I went looking for her.  She was all I thought of to the point of driving myself insane.  I have to say though... It was pretty sweet seeing her walk back into my life.  I felt like for once I lucked out in life.

  1. Nick, do you ever miss your previous life as a con artist and what did you take away from your Relationship with Sadie Sinclair?
Nick: I don't miss it one damn bit. It was a wild ride while it lasted, but I had to grow up and make become an honest guy.  What did I take away from my relationship with Sadie?  Umm... besides a migraine?  *chuckles*  I took away the best possible thing.  *winks at Gia*

  1. On the subject of Sadie has any of you bumped into her since the American music awards show?
Gia: I haven't seen her.  Not that I've been looking for her.
Landry: I think her new label sent her on some European tour.
Nick: Good. Let the Europeans have her.

  1. Landry, after discovering you had a child with Gia why didn’t you try to pursue a relationship with her and how are things with Bridgett? you gonna put a ring on it?
Landry:  So much had happened in our lives, that neither one of us was looking for a relationship with the other. Audrey is our number one priority.  Gia and me are really good friends.  And, Bridgette is good.  All is good.  Yes... I'm totally dodging the ring question.

  1.  Audrey how are you liking your extending family; Tucker, Lila, Bailey and Bridgett? Do you think it’s time either your mom or dad gave you a little brother or sister?
Audrey: My family is the best! And Baby Bailey is super sweet! I'd love to have a little sister because I really need a back up singer.

  1. Gia & Nick what does the future holds for you two……Marriage, kids, music?
*smile at each other*
Gia: Who knows.
Nick: We're just taking it one day at a time.

  1. Finally sweet Audrey what would you like to be when you grow up?
Audrey: A singer. Grandpa says I'm going to take over the world, but that seems like a lot of work! I think I want to be on American Idol or the Voice first!
Thank you all for taking the time to chat with me I wish you all happiness and continued love and unity for the future. Reading your stories was truly a blast.
