This book took my breath away, I laughed, cried, and screamed at my tablet on more than one occasion. Evie's writing just gets better, every page she wrote was filled with raw, passionate story telling that grabbed hold of me shook me around and never really let me go, even after the final word was read it still had its claws deep in me.
Mack and Lana are no strangers infact they used to be lovers, this was a secret passionate affair that they were about to reveal...until the events that resulted in her fathers death. The bond between 2 street gangs and 2 lovers hearts were left broken that night.
5 years later... Lana finds herself being uses as a pawn between the 2 gangs. The Portland Street Kings want her brother Rex to end this vendetta he holds against them and is now living with Mack and his family. She never got over the loss of Mack but she learnt to deal with it and she has come out stronger and more feisty than she ever was.
Mack loved Lana completely she was his over half and she held the key to his happiness. He had his whole future mapped out, they were going to be forever. But after her fathers death he got lost somewhere along the way he needed to protect his family, but when he seen her in the arms of another man he was left broken.
Living together is hard for them both, they never actually got any closure all them years ago but now closure looks like the furthest thing on the cards for them. With old wounds still seeping and new obstacles thrown at them can these two work through their problems. They need to deal with the past to move on with their future.
Lana struggles throughout this book with truths coming to light about her fathers death and her brother Rex going off the rails she dosnt know what way is up but when she is with Mack she feels safe, He is the only man who has ever really seen her. Mack's hate for Lana is strong but the love he has for her consumes him. They are both guilty of different things but can love conquer all?
