A Fast Paced Love Story!
Liam and Katy were high school sweethearts. Shortly after they graduated they ran off to Vegas to get married. Liam does theater acting and it's there that he is discovered by Excite Entertainment and flown to L.A.
Once he's in L.A his marriage takes the backseat to rubbing elbows with Hollywood's biggest and brightest. One night Liam throws a big party and Katy comes into their house filled with half dressed women. When Katy says she's going to leave, Liam doesn't believe her until he comes home from filming and finds a note that tears him apart.
Four years later, he's tried to move on but never let go of the love he has in his heart for his Katy. It's in a little town they are filming in that their paths cross again and Liam has to try and convince Katy that their love is worth fighting for.
Excerpt
"Are you enjoying the vacation?" I ask as we start walking closer to the water.
She nods, smiling over at me. "I am. It's beautiful here. Almost makes me never want to leave."
I pull her into my arms just as we reach the edge of the water. "I can't make that happen, unfortunately...but maybe we can have a getaway house out here, if not on this island, another one. I want to give you the best, baby."
Katy puts her hand on my cheek before getting on her tip toes to press her lips to mine. "'Best' to me is just having the best of you, Liam. You don't have to take me jet-setting around the world. I would be happy even just having our home back in Nevada by our parents' houses. All that matters to me is that I get real world Liam Warren, not Hollywood's Liam Warren."
"You've got me, Katy. You remind me of where I started, just an actor in Theo's theater, no one special. Not someone who had fan-girls and posters that probably hang on those girls' walls. Just a guy who was trying to get by, do something that made him happy. If I ever get a big head again, I need you to knock me down. Smack me around a little to put me in my place," I tease her.
She laughs and walks ahead of me, pulling me by the hand behind her. "I promise to do that. Someone has to."
Review
Katy couldn't handle the life that fame gave her husband, so she takes off and leaves him a note telling him she is done. Liam is a movie star. He loves his wife, but he has a hard time dividing his famous life from his home life.
"I plopped down on my very expensive leather couch and nodded. "I do. This city makes me different. I'm not the Liam that came from a theater in Nevada anymore. Here I'm Liam Warren, movie star, and I feel like I need to act the part." I ran both hands through my hair and squeezed them into fists. " I just forgot to stop acting when I came back home."
He stays to himself for a year. He continues to look for Katy. He has tried her family and friends, but no one would tell her where she went. His friend decides enough is enough, it is time to get over Katy. Unfortunately, Liam's costar, Alexia, is after him married or not. It takes him getting completely drunk to make such a huge mistake. He cheated on Katy.
5 years later, he still hasn't given up on Katy. It happens by coincidence that he finds her at a college in Georgia. Unfortunately for him, she has a boyfriend. Luckily, no way in hell is she over him, but will she let her stubborness keep her from giving him another chance? Will he ever get tired of trying so hard and give up?
"No divorce. I refuse to give you a divorce. I'm not dating anyone. Never gotten even close to serious, and I still love you Katy. You don't get to just sign the dotted line and be rid of me. I refuse it!" I step even closer as I get face to face with her. "You are mine, Katy Warren."
Disconnected is written from Liam's point of view. It is well written. I absolutely love his determination to get his wife back. Katy is great at acting herself. She will want him one minute and rear her stubborn head so quickly it is close to whiplash. Cannot wait to read more.
