Synopsis:

What happens when you create rules to keep others out?

One thing Emerson Moore has come to terms with is that she is the school slut. She knows her way around a frat house and how to get what she wants. She doesn’t make any excuses for her actions and she doesn’t pretend to be anything different. She is who she is and with that she knows how to have a good time. She’s made rules to keep relationships at bay and avoid the demons of her past.

When her best friend, Cole has his two friends from back home move in with him she begins to think she has met her match with Jaxon Riley. REVIEW

Wow absolutely AMAZING From page one I was basking in readers heaven with the beautiful, effortless honey sweetness that flowed from page to page. Blanketing me in true slender. 

I was taken with the story and the characters. 

Emerson...my girl Em the self proclaimed school slut. 

"I'm the school slut. I hate that word: but sometimes it is what it is or in my situation I am what I am."~Em 

MY EM

This book is so awesome I can write this review from so many different angles I don't think so have ever been this spoil for choice before. 

Hmmm I think I'm going to go for the twin/split personality angle. Hopefully it will make sense once I'm finish. 

As stated above Em is the slut; but before Em was born(don't be silly I don't mean a physical being just a Persona) we had Enerson. Young innocent girl with hope, dreams openness typical teenager. 

Until one horrific day her divorced parents are taken from her. That said tragedy also created a Misunderstanding that was the end of Emerson and the emerging of Em.

"I've accepted who I am. The girl who will never become serious about anyone"~Em

For the last six years Em has lived her life guarded and follow her own set of rules pertaining to life. 

He is confident and happy with the state of her life so confident in fact that on one faithful morning after sneaking out  of a frat house in nothing but her sisters bar and her panty she meets Jaxon/Jax instead of been ashamed she square her shoulder and held a conversation like she was fully clothes. (One brave ass girl).

Jax, Jax, Jax, **dreamy eyes** *swoons* I loved this Texan from he entered the book. He just moved with his identical twin brother Jace to California for college....,Guess where they are moving....nope don't know, well they are moving next door to Em and her sister with their best friend Cole. 

MY JAX

Almost immediately he starts getting under her skin and braking some of her carefully constructed walls. 

"I wanted to beat my chest like a caveman. Screaming she was  mine"~Jax 

They have a few class together and in their first lesson he discovers her real mane is Emerson not Em like what everyone else calls her. 

He recite a phrase relating to her name that her mother use to say to her on a daily basis. Igniting the long lost and forgotten Emerson . 

They become instant friends and study buddy she is different around him she allows herself to feel and care for his feelings. 

After a few months things move way beyond the realm of "just Friends" even thought she would never acknowledge it.

"We're just having fun Jax that's it"~Em

The more time she spends with Jax the more she becomes Emerson and the changes in her behavior and attitude are also noticeable to others around her. She is scared but the new found Emerson is willing to take a small chance so she agrees to only date Jax exclusively something she has never done defore just without the official label. 

"A relationship scares me to death"~Emerson 

This book would not be 5stars if everything runs smoothly. 

Que the OMG and WTF moments starting when Jax's past is revealed and a whole lot more drama and seriously hot sex.

misunderstandings are are no longer that and what all what ahe thought she knew no longer existed and all she is left with are new truths and reality of her pass actions and choices catching up with her. 

Will she Enbrace the new Emerson or go back to the comfort of the old Em 

Love forced Em to discover her true self and Accept who he really is not the persona she created but t women she was always destined to be. 

Jax love has reintroduced her to Emerson. 

"Your my heart and you don't walk away from your heart"~Jax

His love and acceptance of all of who is was and is was simply beautiful as the man himself.  

"This was permanent. This mean he wanted me in his life permanently"~Emerson. 

When I found out this was Kimberly's first novel I could not believe it nothing about this book seems like a dubt book it was so well written and has so much to to the story. 

The secondary character and story were all just as brilliant as the main plot. 

Cole is a wonderful friend and he and Quinn made a great couple.  

Jace the twin obviously a complete hottie and and absolute sweetheart plus he is freakishly smart. 

I really want him to her his own book. Fingers crossed. 

Bravo Bravo to miss Lauren fantastic book. I can not wait to read anything else you write you hav w a real talent. That jumps off the pages. 

If you have not read this book I have no clue why not. Don't waste another second just but NOW you won't regret it.

Lately if I'm not traveling or chasing a toddler, I'm writing. Which is weird because I hated writing in college. Oh wait, that's because that was boring. Who really wants to sit there and cite all your sources into APA format? Not this girl. Writing for yourself is enjoyable and cathartic. Please try it. Then tell me about because I love indie authors.

When I was 19, I packed up and followed my high school sweetheart from Texas to California. We had a blast living it up in San Diego. Four years later we made a crazy decision and packed up again and moved to Germany. What? Yep, you read that right. Guess what? Best decision ever! We OWNED Europe. For three years we saw as much as we possibly could. We lived an hour outside of France, a couple from Switzerland and Italy. Most amazing time of my life. Please go out there and see the world, you won't regret it. After Europe we moved back to California, and for now we're just debating our next adventure.

I earned a degree in Child Development. And now I write novels. Makes perfect sense! I write because I walk around all day with these stories in my head. It's nice to be able to get them out of my head in an organized fashion. I hope that someone out there enjoys them, because I have enjoyed so many others'.

WOW MIND BLOWN IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR AMAZING BOOK, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN WITH THESE QUESTIONS I HAVE SO MANY.  I CANNOT GET OVER THE FACT THAT THIS IS YOUR DEBUT NOVEL. WELL IT’S CERTAINLY ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER READ.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m just a twenty-something year old that likes to write about characters my age. I’ll take a good vacation over almost anything. My husband is my soul-travel partner, so glad I found him! I have an almost two year-old who likes to interrupt my writing every two minutes… so he’s a fun challenge.

Is the story based on people you know /actual events or just something that you came up with purely fiction?

Purely fiction. While reading about all of the promiscuous male protagonists, I started thinking this has to happen the other way around.

What is your writing process?

Honestly I write from chapter one to the final chapter. I need the organization. I can’t skip around. When I get ideas for something later on I write it down to come back to later.

Do you listen to music during the writing process? If so what effect does that have on your writing?

I’ve tried really hard to be one of those writers that can listen while working because I HATE the quiet. But I need it to write. I do like to take breaks and listen, because you can really learn how to describe emotions from music, but I just can’t focus on my writing while listening.

Let’s talk about those characters of yours; Jax and Emerson are not perfect…my god they are far from it but that is what I feel makes them so real. Can you tell us about the character development and why you chose an unconventional hero/heroine?

I love stories about the guy that just finds “that girl” and he cant get her out of her head, so I knew I wanted to go in that direction. As the story developed I decided to make it a bit harder for Jax by giving him Emerson. I knew he would have to work hard. You’ll see in Jace’s book he deserved to have to work for it! ;-)

Jaxon and Jace were identical twins how did that idea come about?

There wasn’t much to it – who doesn’t want two identical hotties? Actually, I really wanted them to have an extremely close bond and the more I thought about it the more it made since for them to not only be brothers but twin brothers. There are more “twin issues” in Jace’s book.

Do you fall in love with your main characters, because I sure did?

Absolutely. The courtyard scene plays like a movie in my head, and sometimes it still hurts my heart for Emerson and Jax.

You took us on a very emotional roller-coaster ride, I cried a few times. Well I experienced every emotion known to man in the two day it took me to read this book. Do you ever cry while writing an emotional scene?

No, I haven’t yet, but it takes A LOT to make me cry – so that’s probably just me. I do get the fast heart pounding/ stomach dropping feeling though.

Do you personally know anyone like Em a self-professed slut?

Personally? No. But I’m married to a Marine, so living near a military base, you come across some “interesting” girls … haha.

What is your favorite scene or quote from the book?

Favorite quote would have to be when Emerson and Jaxon finally get together –

 “Tell me that you want me.” He whispered.

“I want you.” Always.

“Only me?”

“Only you.” Had there ever been anyone else?”

I'd love to read more of Cole and Quinn's story, and also Jace.  Would you consider continuing their stories in another book?

I just finished some short alternate scenes from Cole’s POV and it was really fun. Right now I don’t have plans writing one for them because you will see a lot of them in Jace’s but you never know what can happen.

What can you tell us about your currents projects?

Currently I’m writing Jace’s story. The whole gang is there. I never had any plans to go beyond Jace’s story with this set of characters per say, but I feel like they have so much more to accomplish… we’ll see…

Who is your favorite book couple?

There are too many good ones out there but I think the ones I still think about long after I’ve read are Christian & Ana (obviously!) and Sky & Holder from Hopeless.

You’re a new Author and all and we would love to get to know you a little better…could you give us a few fun facts about yourself?

My husband and I just moved back to the states from living in Europe for three years, so we are still adjusting to an American culture shock! I have a bachelor’s in Child Development – so writing romance novels makes perfect sense, right?! LOL
