TEASER
The bench is old and made of stone. I sit down and feel the cold against my body. I put my hands down on the bench and look up to the sky, “Mom? Are you there?” I start to say, “I don’t know what to do Mom. I’m so scared. You said you’ll always be there when I need you well I need you now. Please show me a sign.” I close my eyes and feel the quietness of the night. There’s nothing but silence. I start crying again when all of a sudden I feel arms around my shoulders. I open my eyes and look up. Adam.

REVIEW

OH MY GOSH!! Sophia drove me crazy this whole book!!
I loved this book, I really did. However, I wish at some point Sophia really realized that not everything is her fault. Let me say she did have moments where she had some sense, but most of the time I wanted to slap her so much.

Sophia has a way of allowing darkness to overcome her. When her mother died, she allowed it to rule her life. Sophia threw away her relationships with her bestfriends and first love. She never thought she would get those relationships back, until that day that Adam and Connor walked back into her life.
Sophia was in a bad place at this time. She had been working her way out of the darkness that took her after her mother's death, but now had another darkness threatening to take her over. Kyle, her boyfriend, is beating her.
Sophia stays with him because of her fear of being alone. When she finally gets the guts and people behind her motivating her to end the bad relationship, she begins to move on with her life. She finally gets her relationship back with Connor and Adam, and things start to progress with Adam. It all starts to finally look up! Unfortunately, Kyle is not giving her up that easily. If he cannot have her, no one can.
Sophia will struggle a lot during this book. She will blame herself and others way more than she should. Can she finally be happy? Will she ever stop allowing Kyle to cause her so much pain, emotionally and physically? Will she be able to find her way out of the darkness with the help of her friends and family?
Reaching out for you is written in Sophia's point of view. She is a very emotional person. At times her blame and thoughts make you want to slap the crap out of her. The emotions we read about are so real, but sometimes still hard to swallow. I have never gone through what Sophia experiences, but I understand how her brain is working and only wish she could find the help she needs. S. Moose, you have definitely written a touching, emotional, and extremely real book!
