OMG what a bloody book, this book was just crazy emotional gripping  raw and wow  DARK.

Dark shadows is very appropriate title.Charlie's story is not pretty cute its fucking gritty and most of it ugly and I enjoy ready every word. 

Charlie grew up with an alcoholic abusive mother not know who her father was. She met Emma at a young age and they became best friends her family providing Charlie with the love support and affection that was lacking at home. 

At 18 years old and three months away from escaping town her life took a turn for the worse when tragedy struck. 

"Your heart is going to be emptied Charlie"    

After he life changed her heart was indeed emptied and it was to remain empty for many years until she was able to process all that had happened to her over the years and recognize she deserves more.

"I was trying to become better. Better for him and more better for me"  

Being a loner without much family she is targeted and dragged into a world that provided an escape from her  pain and suffering. 

That world also enabled financial freedom but it pulled her further into the darkness. 

"The Charlie that he had portrayed, truly was beautiful. But if he knew all of me, the deep dark malaise of my secret self, would he still find me this stunning"

Cameron is a very passionate and understanding man with his own dark  secrets and scars

The plot was going at a  steady pace then all of a sudden the book took a sinister turn.
