REVIEW
What can I say about Love Love....I don't even know where to begin....
The story held me captive from the very first page. Any book that starts out happy you can bet your ass that you are in for a rocky emotional ride and that was exactly what you will get with this book.
The synopsis gave very little away which I loved I like the element of surprise discovering the unknown.
This story is one of true Love, grief, discovery, and second chances.
From chapter one I had a feeling where this book was about to taking me and when we meet the adorable Brad I taught for sure I knew.......then in walks Dane a hunky curve ball to the plot I taught I had figured out. then I have no clue what the hell is going to happen.
Despite Dane's hotness and and panty dropping smile I liked Brad better I believed he and Gabby were more suited, pity she did not see it that way.....at first.
After a very Hot steamy relationship with Dane well not really a relationship just "Fuck Buddies" in the words of Gabby.
Sex provided a distraction from her pain....but just how long can she keep running before she has no where else to run and her grief consumes her.
Brad and Gabby build a friendship over her morning coffee slowly they grow close until she stars to feel things she never taught she would feel again.
Beth really lets us understands Gabby and we can see her struggling with the pain she carries around on her shoulders daily.
"there is no time limit on grief breath it, live it, let it seep into you, when you are ready and only when you are ready will you let it go" ~ Brad
I love this quote it could not be more true and Brad also understands grief after having his own personal experience with grief.
"I was happy in my little controlled life"~Gabby
She was only existing not living because living means having little control over events. To live is to experience all emotions: joy, sadness, sorrow, happiness, pain, hurt, anger, love.
"its easier not to feel, feeling leaves you venerable to so much pain."~Gabby
life cannot be lived without feeling..... that's not living.
And that is exactly what Gabby has been doing merely existing going through the motions not living her life.
Her emotions lay dormant until Brad re awaken her and those feelings, will Gabby be able to put the past behind her and embrace what she feels now?!?
This book is a really good read I love Fran she is a great friend, her and Gabby are both their for each other a pillar of strength for one another.
What Fran goes through is just heart breaking and for her to be so incredibly brave and strong after all she endured was just inspiring. Beth has written some pretty incredible characters.
Fear definition~ A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain etc. whether the treat is real or imagined.
Fear especially irrational fear which is born from true hurt and devastation has the powder to control your life.
Coupled with family that does not accept you for who you are and constantly judging you. is even a worse feeling.
I wanted to strangle Gabby's mother; she is such an evil vile women how can you not love your own child unconditionally and make them feel like they are not worthy enough to be loved? simply wrong.
The disappointment she believes herself to be in her families eyes plays a role in why after finally opening her heart she push away Love and hurt herself further.
She fears she will only end up being a disappointment to the man that has made her feel again.
Gabby is a wonderful person deserving of love and a second chance at happiness if only she could see that also.
Brad is wonderfully sweet he stole my heart with his kindness and love, he never gave up on the woman that revitalized him and muck into his heart taking root. He proved his love by fighting for what made him happy.
"I will give you space, but I'm going to fight like hell for you with every breath I have I will fight for you"~Brad
loved the ending After that emotional journey if I did not get a happy ending I would have being pissed.
four happy starts from me, really looking forward to reading more from Beth her writing is very emotive and reflective of real situations.
