BLOG TOUR STOP~INEVITABLE by Angela Graham

Title: Inevitable (Harmony series #1)
Author: Angela Graham
Genre: New Adult

Synopsis:

Cassandra Clarke, fresh out of college and living on her own, isolates herself from the humiliation that rocked her world a year earlier.
Everything in her life is simple and easy until Logan West, the single father full of mystery and sex appeal, moves into the empty estate next door. A guy who easily attracts the attention of available women in town with one carefree smile.

Cassandra is not looking for another heartbreak and stands her ground, but finds it impossible to stay away from the charming stranger when his four-year-old son, Oliver, takes an interest in her childhood tree house.

It is through Oliver where Cassandra’s eyes begin to open to a side of Logan very few people know. The rough edges and arrogant front shed away, leaving the compassionate, yet broken side of him exposed, and finally opening the possibilities to a genuine friendship.
A friendship that is constantly shaken by the undeniable connection building between them.

With temptation arising every time they are near, Cassandra fights to remind herself exactly why Logan isn’t capable of loving her the way she deserves, or is he?

EXCERPT

After the scene was cleared and the crowd had disappeared, I sat on the sidewalk, leaning against a fire hydrant, feeling the weight of tonight. It was eerily quiet. I refused everyone’s offers to drive me home. I just sat there watching and waiting until I had my chance to speak with Logan.

“You okay?” My voice was so soft, nothing more than a breath in the wind.
He was leaning against a car rubbing the back of his head. He said nothing, just stared down at the patch of grass in front of him.

“You should get your head looked at. You might have a concussion,” I said louder, noticing the dried blood on his hands. Kurt had hit him pretty hard but Logan refused to go to the hospital. One of the paramedics did however manage to get a quick look after Logan made sure I got a damn near full physical. Logan was relentless and it took everything I had to prove I’d be fine. Luckily, it wasn’t a broken nose. The maniac’s fist caught more of my lip and the pressure there was already building beneath the skin.

I sighed, growing agitated, when he still didn’t answer me. “I’m sorry, but how was I to know the man was a psycho? You should have told me before watching me drink so much tonight.” The alcohol was long gone from my system between the rush of adrenaline earlier and the pain from a grown man punching me in the face. I was stone-cold sober.

“And you would have believed me?” he snapped, looking my way for only a brief second before dropping his head. I hugged my knees closer against my chest, and rested my chin on them, watching Logan shake his head in thought.

He looked at the grass, and then tipped his head back, staring at the full moon. Finally, he pushed off the car and offered a hand to help me up from the grass.
“Probably not,” I mumbled, honestly. I stood and stepped back to see his face under the glow of the street light. “But that’s your fault. You’re always hitting on me or making me feel…I don’t know…all right. You just get in my head. I never know what’s real and what’s a game.”

Our eyes locked for a long moment before he spoke. “You’re right.” He softly wiped at the blood on me cheek. “I’m sorry.”

His arm wrapped around my waist, and he helped me down the sidewalk to his car.
The ride to my house was painfully quiet. I wasn’t sure if he was angrier that I got hurt, or that I didn’t listen to him earlier and let him take me home before things got out of hand. Either way I could tell he was pissed. His hand was tight around the steering wheel, grinding into the leather.

The moment he switched off the ignition Logan was out of the car and opening my door for me. He caught me off guard, when he swooped me up in his arms and carried me to my front door.

“I can walk you know,” I said trying to climb down.

“Shut up, and unlock the door.”

Accepting defeat, I tugged the keys from my purse and reached down sliding it in the lock. Logan was definitely mad. We walked inside and he laid me on the couch and headed straight into the kitchen. The sounds of drawers and cupboards opening and closing made me stifle a laugh until I heard him place a glass on the kitchen table.
Everything became instantly quiet and it took only half a second until my posture stiffened. Shit! I left the condoms Hilary gave me on the table.

Review

Hmmmm.....interesting. This book was brilliant, however it did not start that way for me. The first few chapters did not hook me I had to make a mental note to keep going. I'm pretty sure this was because when I got the book from Amazon I looked at the overall rating which was very high, so I automatically had a high expectation and when I did not get into it the book right away I was disappoint but I was not disappoint very long before the book picked up and I got really into it. By the end I understood the high rating.
But before that let get back to the sweet frustrating, adorable, heated, and teasing story of the Hot new neighbour and his cute son and his blonde beauty next door.
Logan is a single dad (thank you so much Angela for writing about a single father, they are so many out there but that get over looked) He loves and treasures his son they have a beautiful relationship but Logan carry a around the hurt and insecritures that Natasha his sons cause him to have when she ran off with a rich man and broke his heart.
What does most men that have been hurt by by a women do?!? Ah ha turn into a man whore.  And Laogan has all the women falling at his feet, throwing themselves at him, sometimes even more than one at a time.
Cassandra is the beauty, sexy young women next door, she catches Logan's eye almost immediately but she too has been through a heart break and has no Intrest in one night stands.
"Logan was sweet and gorgeous and said all the right things, but I couldn't let myself forget he was also a notorious play boy. I was nothing more than a small town teacher, searching for my epic love, not just hot sex with a friend"~Cassie
Cassie is crazy with lust for Logan he consumes her nightly dreams, but she is looking for something something Logan has made clear he is not able to provide.
" I am not the relationship type of guy, sweetheart. You know this already"

What makes this book different is the fact that she did not sleep with him or try to get into a relationship so many women in real life and fiction think they will be able to change a man when in actually fact that are just setting themselves up for heartache.
"As difficult as it was to refuse him and my body's desires I was proud of finding the self control to end things"~Cassie
But Cassie fought her physical attraction and urges and build a real friendship with Logan and Oliver. Her resisting him resulted in a special bond and she hit the opportunity to see the many layers and different sides to Logan.
"I'm not good for you, but just know please. A small smile brightened his face "your important in my life,Cassandra. Your my best friend"~Logan
That foundation if friendship and trust opened the door for something much deeper and profound...LOVE
There was one part in the book that had me in stitches from laughter OMG that dream I was like finally after all the teasing and flirting between the two then...."Cassandra for the love of God wake up"~Logan
After much back and forth you think they are finally getting there act together.
"Ahh, Cassandra. Tell me you want me as much as I want you" ~Logan
In walk his ex after four long years sending Logan back into despair and he pushes alway Cassandra hurting her in more ways than one.
The Inevitable happened because when you run and hind from your problems inevitably things will come to a head when words collide and all you are left with is the consequences of the choices you made....good or bad.
"This was love. Unconditional, all consuming, mind blowing love"~Logan
Finally working through and admitting his feelings  for Cassandra will  it be too late for them?!?
"The thought of the future terrified me, but I would never give up, no matter how much she fought against her feelings and how angry she was when she woke,I'd never give up on us"~Logan
After Logan left her feeling like she will never be enough and that their connection is not real will Logan be able to convince her of his unconditional love?!?
"I was hers and someday she would be mine"~Logan
Logan will need that steel of determination if genus to win back the love of this life.
I am really looking forward to the concluding part of their story to find out of love can conquer all and lead to the inevitable.
