The summer after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom - but not for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the guys...in their house.
Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be, but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren't happy with the situation, either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can't escape Emery's fangirlisms for more than three minutes.
But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being "out of this world." If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn't want to come back to Earth.
CHARACTER CASTING
Can you share a short history/bio on each of the main characters?
I didn't realize how tough character bios were until I sat down trying to come up with something from scratch, so here's a glimpse at four of my main characters, Twitter-bio style!
Chloe -
Branson sister. Album artist for Spaceships Around Saturn. Saturnite. Bleeds butterflies. Noah's BFF. Milo's girl. Sebastian's Shadow fan!
Milo -
The only SAS guy with any sense! Canadian boy, guitarist… Give me milk & Oreos. Simple enough, right?
Emery -
Number one Saturnite. @Benji_Baccarini’s BFF. Branson sister. Likes to color, swim, and sing SAS karaoke.
Noah - I sing in Spaceships Around Saturn! Also - Canadian, drummer, 19, lover of strawberry milk, has tendency to end up in swimming pools (not always by choice).
REVIEW
Oh my goodness this book was the bomb, I swear to God I laughed so hard I also wet my pants. Every single page is filled with laughter and sarcastic comments I honestly cannot remember the last time i laughed out that loud reading a book.
Emery, cute rambunctious little madam I loved her could not get enough of her 5year old wisdom.
Well yourprobably wonderful what the hell I'm taking about well let me fill you in a little.
After shooting at Canadian boy band Spaceships Around Saturn concert she boys are in need of temporary protection until the person responsible is caught.
So where can you hide five famous faces and get then complete off the grid?!? A secret service agent's house with two teenage girls and one munchkin 5 year old Saturnite that's where.... This was certainly set for an interesting time.
Chloe is the oldest if the three Branson sisters she recently suffered a humiliating break up. Which the whole town knows about she's had it with boys and planned to send her summer patying and going out with her sister and the few friends she has left after the breakup. So a house filled with Boys is the last ting she wanted to make matters wort they are on complete lack down. Let the battles and secret romances commence. I really can't say much more without giving too much away because the plot is not too complex it's simply perfect and straight forward. The writing gets your attention and entertain the hell out of you it flows well it was fresh young and spunky. I enjoyed the boyband dynamic and their relationship with each other. The Benson sisters will hold a place in my heart along with the sweet and sexy Milo. I cannot state enough just how much I enjoyed this book. Sweet, romantic, funny, a well rounded YA novel. Nikki, girl I will be reading whatever else you write I just love this book and your writing style. Jus fab.
I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for a light hearted funny read to blow tour socks off then look no further this book has it all.
EXCERPT
He reaches toward the tray and grabs the lone Oreo. “Okay, this is my last one for the night,” he says. “Half it with me?”
Seriousl? If I wasn’t the envy of every Saturnite in the world just by sitting across the table from him, I’m definitely the envy of them now because the Milo Grayson wants to half his precious Oreo with me. And the thing that sucks the most is that no one knows about it to be jealous of me!
He holds the cookie up and waits for a response.
“Yeah, we can half it,” I say.
I reach across the table for it, but he jerks his arm back. The sleeve of his T-shirt hugs his bicep tightly, and oh how I wish to be that fabric.
“Not so fast,” he says. “Let’s make it interesting.”
Could this be any more interesting? Hello – you’re gorgeous and famous and sharing cookies with me! Any more ‘interest’ and I might burst like a firework.
“If you get the side with the cream, I’ll give you my honest male opinion about your checkout line drama today,” he says. “But if I get the cream side, you have to tell me, honestly, who you think the best looking guy is in Spaceships Around Saturn.”
Oh God. He’s for real. Does he know? He totally knows. He knows I’m lusting for him from behind this glass of milk and tattoo magazine. He knows that his eyes make me melt and that I clearly watch him on Twitter because I know all about amazzzzzing. Now he wants to make me ‘fess up.
“Deal.” I say it before I can chicken out.
I can always lie and say Benji’s name. He’s the fan favorite anyway. Benji Baccarini is Spaceships Around Saturn for so many girls.
He leans forward, positions himself over the table, and holds up that fated Oreo. I push my glass of milk aside because the last thing I want is to knock it over with my quivering nerves. Then I lean toward him, grip the cookie with my fingers, and inhale every scent of his body wash that I can while I twist my half of the Oreo away from his half.
